For the wood under the portal where we wanted to maintain stain, he did a beautiful job of matching the wood and making the filled areas look natural. He also painted our ductwork and other metal components to color match the stucco, repairing the stucco in a few places along the way. "When I called them, they told me that they couldn't make 2 trips to my house because it cut into the cost (although I told them  I wasn't sure what I needed to fix up my deck). When they got to my house, they told me that I needed to go to Lowes and buy the sealant.  They told me what to buy and how much. I had to leave them alone in my house while I went to pick it up. They put in some screws while I was gone and then painted the deck with the sealant. I guess I would have done it myself and saved a lot of money if I would have known what my deck needed.  The deck hadn't been cleaned prior to the sealant but I only had them for the one afternoon and so I  had to have them do it then. The job itself was done OK.  I learned that if I do something like this again, I will make sure that I know exactly what I need and have the right materials and see what's involved in the labor.  Actually, I will just do it myself and save the money.

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."
