"Prompt and hard-working, Carlos and his crew did a great job sealcoating our long driveway. Working quickly, but avoiding any errors, they did the job in half a day. Guaranteed for a year, their bid, among the 4 I looked at, stood out."

"although it took a few phone calls to get a quote and work date, these guys did a very nice job re-paving my driveway which had been torn apart due to water leaks. The work crew was friendly, hardworking, and neat. Good job guys!!"

"Couldn't be happier with the service, timeliness, cost and quality of the job. Mike from Mike & Martin's personally viewed the job site and together we negotiated and agreed on a plan, timeline and cost for the job. Mike's crew arrived on time, followed the plan exactly as discussed and completed the job as promised. The quality of work was exceptional and Mike took the time to make personal contact at the completion of the job and again after a couple of weeks to insure my satisfaction. I would highly recommend Mike & Martin's Asphalt Paving and Sealcoating as a reputable, conscientious, and quality business. I have and will continue to refer M&M to others seeking quality, cost effective asphalt services. They also have an A+ Better Business Bureau rating. Thanks Mike."

"The concrete and grading project well fairly week. The contractor started and finished as planned. He came back to fix a problem. However, the finish work was not the best.
The block wall construction - another story. The subcontractor or employee that supervised the project was less then professional. Always late, always telling a different story . . . I felt like he didn't understand what was covered in my contract with JK Marsh. The quality was fair.
In general the company does ok work but does not communicate with employees, subcontractors or the customer. It was difficult to work with them. This project started June 20 and ended in September. The project was planned to be done in a month.
I won't hire them again. I am still waiting for my copy of the city permit for the wall!!

Driveway Sealcoating questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on the extent of damage, material costs, labor, and whether resurfacing is needed.

Driveway sealcoating costs around $500 on average, or between $1.25 and $1.50 per square foot for materials and labor. Most homeowners pay between $250 and $800 for this service. Your project price will depend mostly on the size of your driveway, the type of sealant, how much pressure washing or treatment is required before sealing, and the number of coats of sealant applied to your driveway. Most sealants come in 5-gallon or 55-gallon units, with up to 500 square feet of coverage per 4 gallons.

Yes, most professional repair services include the application of sealants for weatherproofing or waterproofing. This process helps protect the repaired area from moisture, weather damage, and future wear, which can improve durability and energy efficiency. It is always best to confirm with your contractor or service provider if sealing is included in their repair process.

A good asphalt maintenance schedule covers all the pitfalls that can happen to your asphalt. Just how often you should maintain your pavement will depend on the type of maintenance. Resealing your asphalt driveway should be done every three to five years. Cleaning is more of an annual task while repairing cracks and potholes comes in on an as-needed basis.

Though they may look similar, tar and bitumen come from different sources. Bitumen is a petroleum product—extracted during crude oil refining—and is mostly made up of hydrocarbons. Tar comes from burning down organic materials like coal or wood. Bitumen is strictly oil-based, while tar is a mix of compounds from natural sources. Both are used as binders in paving; however, bitumen is the standard for today’s asphalt. Tar use has mostly faded out of road construction.
