"They sent the color choices and directions promptly. I was a little nervous about doing the measuring and making a pattern without assistance so procrastinated a bit. Once I sent in the order details I had hoped I would hear back with an estimated delivery time, but that didn't happen. However, I was in no hurry, so I didn't even really pay attention to how long it took. Maybe a few weeks. Not sure."

"Great. Phillip communicated well with scheduling and estimate. The work done was excellent, really made the deck look nice. Built new stair case and in addition, he built a new gate for our backyard fence. I felt I received excellent service and quality workmanship. It was also all done in a timely manner."

Install Stair Railings questions, answered by experts

Yes, there are specific building codes for cable railings, but they vary by location. Local building authorities and codes dictate the requirements for cable railing systems, including cable spacing, height, and tension. Check with your local authorities and follow these regulations to ensure you comply with safety standards when installing cable railings.

You have a little flexibility when installing a handrail against a wall. The minimum distance between the two must be at least 1.5 inches, and commercially available handrail bracket hardware accounts for that minimum. The maximum distance a handrail can be from a wall is 4.5 inches, provided it doesn't impede the walking area.

Regular sealing or staining, non-slip treads, and correcting water pooling help avoid damage. Households prone to extreme weather should prioritize these measures.

Standard residential stair treads need to be at least 1 inch thick. Open staircases without risers must be at least 1-1/2 inches thick.

Spiral staircases can be installed outdoors using weather-resistant materials, such as galvanized steel, aluminum, or treated wood. Outdoor installations may require additional coatings or finishes to prevent rust and decay, and costs may be higher due to site prep and exposure to the elements. Outdoor staircases must also comply with local building codes, which can affect the dimensions, handrail requirements, and load capacities to guarantee safety in all weather conditions.
