"NE heating and cooling by far the best experience I have had with any contractor for repairs. Pepe and his crew were very knowledgeable about installing new furnace unit. There work was very clean and very fast. They were the only company that was willing to get things done right away. During the coldest day of the year when we had a deep freeze Pepe showed up ready to make things happen. There prices are very reasonable and the dedication to making sure things work right was on point. I definitely would hire this company again. I recommend this company for any heating/cooling needs."

"After interviewing 8 companies for installation of mini-splits, I made the lucky decision to hire Patrick Baca, owner of Baca Heating and Cooling. He answered all my questions with patience and expertise and demonstrated that he could out-perform the 'competition'. I knew I could trust him. Patrick was efficient, professional, caring, courteous, always on-time, meticulous, and has a work-ethic that is 2nd to none. His pricing was incredibly fair, something that is a rarity in Santa Fe. He also went above and beyond the confines of installing my mini-splits, helping me with several unrelated fixes around my house and has returned on his own to make sure that everything is running smoothly. Patrick Baca is a shining example of a fully-knowledgeable, caring, and talented professional and I cannot express my gratitude enough for finding such a trustworthy and consummate master of his craft. I highly recommend Patrick Baca. He is the best."

"One Person’s Thoughts A career focused upon business strategy for global companies has taught me that there are two types of relatively successful (lifetime duration unknown) to successful (long-term over many years) companies; • Good companies • Great companies. Good companies focus upon sales and immediate revenue events. Immediate sales revenue is a singular event -- once the revenue is in the till future revenue requires significant renewed efforts and becomes much less predictable. Sustaining a company upon immediate revenue is a difficult, high energy, and high cost of customer access process. Great companies focus upon building brand through long-term customer partnerships. Building these customer partnerships requires expending much more effort and customer care up front, while micro-focusing upon building long-term sustainable revenue from families of parents, children, grandchildren and family relations. Great company customer partnerships also lead a to durable, sustainable brand image for companies; recognizing that brand image is not build by money and/or advertising, but by understanding and humanity on a customer by customer basis. Brand image is customer experiential and cannot be created through advertising, marketing or immediate sales. Building customer partnerships requires understanding and customer compassion through five phases of partnership: • Initial information and needs analysis • Marketing and sales • Customer care by actively and compassionately resolving all customer questions and concerns • Installation with open information sharing about timing, concerns, issues, and challenges • Customer follow up and care – touching the customer during and immediately after the install event and in an on-going manner at least three to four times a year after that. From my very recent experience, Road Runner a Good company, one with a way to go to become Great!"

"Title: Exceptional, trustworthy plumbing — highly recommended Galactic Mechanical & Plumbing exceeded every expectation. After a frustrating runaround with other companies, Jordan drove up from Albuquerque to Santa Fe, waived the trip charge, and quickly diagnosed that I only needed a faucet fixture (not a full sink). He went to Home Depot, installed the new fixture, fixed a few other small issues, and left everything working — all billed fairly for one hour of labor. Jordan was professional, efficient, and honest; Megan in the office was courteous and helpful. As a longtime local with two homes, I’m already planning to use Galactic as my go-to plumber. Highly recommend them for reliable, respectful, and skilled service. Thank you, Jordan."

Install Central Vacuum questions, answered by experts

No. Only the hose or the attachments are portable in a central vacuum system. A portable vacuum is a standalone model like a stick, canister, or upright. A central vacuum system is defined by a central power unit, which is installed in one place like an AC unit, and the connected network of piping to funnel the suction.

Yes, installing a central vacuum system typically adds value to your home. The ease of use, longevity, and superior suction power of a central vacuum system can add up to $2,000 to your home’s value if you decide to sell. Potential buyers may consider the central vacuum a perk to purchasing your home.

For the average-size house, a central vacuum installation usually takes one day of work by a team of professionals. Large houses may take two or more days. But if you are planning on a DIY project, it’s likely to take much longer. We suggest getting a few estimates for a project this big and fully understanding all the requirements before you make a decision about installation. Certain parts of your house may not be usable during the installation, and you may want to make other plans.

The disadvantages associated with central vacuums start with cost. They are expensive to install, especially in existing homes, as retrofitting requires opening walls. The system's bulky hoses can also be inconvenient to maneuver and store compared to portable vacuums. Additionally, repairs may need professional service, adding to maintenance costs. Lastly, while powerful, they may be overkill for smaller homes or apartments, making the investment less practical for some households.

They’ll use more electricity than the average upright vacuum, but not remarkably more. Most power units plug into a standard 120-volt outlet and don’t have significant power demands. You shouldn’t notice an increase in electricity bills. If you have any specific questions about energy costs, ask your installer as you examine purchase decisions. Larger power units will need more electricity for their suction levels.
