"So, my wife and I had it in our minds to stop paying someone else’s mortgage and start paying our own. After getting approved by the VA for a home loan (sidenote, that as an amazing experience from start to finish… I’ve heard horror stories about VA loans, but my experience could not have been anything more to the contrary. Even after the account was closed my Loan Officer Justin Darr still takes my calls if I have any questions.) they set me up with Summer Woods and I can’t even begin to tell you how grateful I am that they did. An FHA appraisal is valid for 180 days from the effective date of the report. In some cases, you can have the appraisal recertified if you make your request before the original expires so that you still may obtain an FHA loan. If approved, your appraisal update is valid for one year.
