"Did what they said they would do when they said they would do it. Excellent quality"

"Very efficient, polite. Cleaned up after cutting down two large tree trunks."

"Oscar Pena of Pena & Sons replied almost immediately to our HomeAdvisor inquiry for tree removal and landscaping work. He came by the next day to understand the job, and provided an initial bid. He also advised us on getting the several shrubs and tree that we needed. Work was tentatively scheduled for the next week. He read, understood and signed the job description, price and schedule that we provided. The work took less than two days, including removal of all trimmings and debris, picking up plants, topsoil and fertilizer, and installing plants according to our sketched plan. Everything went well and we were very pleased with his service and his workers."

"We had them level off a hill and driveway area, then build a retaining wall. They were prompt and did great work."

"Alex is very thorough and takes pride in his work. He maintains my yards to keep them looking as good as possible. I would definitely recommend him to do anything related to landscaping and irrigation systems. Alex shows up for every job too, not just his hired help. That makes a difference to me."

"Zia Projects was the installers that Backyard Discovery hired to install our new Range Lodge Gazebo at our home. They answered our questions and any concerns we had and did an excellent job installing the Gazebo. We are very happy with their work and our new Gazebo."

"Cesar showed up and started the work with this team within two hours of starting the project. Completed removal of two trees and made the yard look pristine as if that was the state within 3 hours. I can't imagine any other team getting this project done this efficiently. I highly recommend Cesar!!!"

I provide high-quality renovation, repair, and custom building services with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, structural judgment, and lasting results. My work is centered in timber, wood, carpentry, and finish carpentry, with a builder's eye for how a project is framed, joined, weathered, and meant to endure. I work across residential construction, remodeling, repair, custom woodwork, trim and finish details, water-intrusion correction, and site-related building problems. Especially suited to Santa Fe and surrounding rural properties, I bring sensitivity to materials, proportion, drainage, weather exposure, and the practical realities of building in the high desert. The aim is honest assessment, premium workmanship, and finished work that feels and is solid, fitting, and well made. \n \nI also offer owner-builder guidance and careful project diagnosis before costly mistakes are made.
