Flooring installation usually takes about one to three days, so it’s a project you can do over a long weekend if you plan to DIY. This step will add at least a day to the project time, but it will help minimize the risk of warping due to changes in temperature and humidity.

The cost to install carpet is $1,780 on average for 330 square feet, the size of an average living room. This cost could range from $200 to $5,000, depending on the amount of carpet, material, and type of carpet.

You can lay carpet by yourself, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you should.
