Juan at Mircon LLC pays very close attention to detail when on the job. Makes sure that part of the job is complete to the clients expectations. Juan's clients are very happy with the work being done and very happy with the end result of the project.

"Mircon, LLC is fairly new as a business; however, the Owner/Contractor is very experienced in the roofing business He is honest and his prices are competitive. He responds immediately to phone calls and spends time on the roof with his workmen to ensure quality workmanship. Mircon, LLC replaced my entire roof and did an excellent job. I am very pleased with the work."

Babcock Construction in Albuquerque specializes in general remodeling and custom home building. We stand out by offering the convenience of accepting all major credit cards. Contact us today to bring your dream home to life!

"This was a trial job before a potential kitchen removal. It involved moving our boiler a short distance, walling off the area, fixing the floor, some electrical. The Babcock family themselves professional but didn't follow thru with the subs. The subs were only concerned with doing the fastest, cheapest job they could do (classic example is on the plumbing rework, the plumber substituted PEX for copper and the former isn't rated for the latter job)."

Strahle Tile & Granite Inc was founded by Robert Strahle in 1999. He started out as a tile contractor and moved into the stone business within a few years. It was quite the challenge finding a work area that would accomodate the amount of work that he was attaining. Finally, after several shop movements, Strahle Tile & Granite Inc found a location that would accomodate their constant growth. In 2007, they moved to their current location at 3409 Stanford Dr, NE, ABQ NM, 87107. Strahle Tile & Granite Inc strives to achieve the highest quality possible when it comes to ALL granite and stone installation, as well as tile installation. "We are very pleased we chose the The Floor Store to help us select new flooring and have it installed. We worked with Bill Cunningham to choose carpet and vinyl flooring materials that we are very satisfied with. The installation crews for both the hard floor and the carpet were incredibly professional and highly skilled. They arrived as scheduled, worked consistently throughout the day(s) and completed the work when expected. Between the new flooring and new baseboards, our house feels refreshed and contemporary. This was a great investment in our home and we're so glad we made it."

Marble and Granite questions, answered by experts

Granite and marble compare well against each other in terms of price, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Deciding which one is better depends on your personal style and preference. Both materials resist damage like chips and cracks well. You should seal both material types against staining and etching, but they’re still susceptible if oil, wine, coffee, tomato sauce, or juice are left on the countertop long enough. As material and installation costs range similarly, the deciding factor is your budget, design, and preferences.

You can technically install tile over tile, but we don’t suggest it. Installing tile over any surface that isn’t a completely flat and prepared subfloor will result in a shoddy overall job, uneven flooring, tiles that don’t adhere, extra weight, gaps, cracks, and room for moisture and dirt to enter. For the best results, only install new tile on a flat, sanded surface like subflooring or concrete that is prepared for tile.

If you have asbestos tile and would rather tile over it than remove it, or if your existing tile is completely flat and bonded tightly to the floor, you may be able to tile over existing tile. But experts recommend thinking twice before you do.

You can’t go wrong with locally sourced flagstone. If you're working with a landscaper near you, they'll likely be able to source local stone for you and offer insight into how your stone will age over time.

Most marble floors last at least 25 years, and they can last forever with proper care and maintenance. As a natural stone product, they have the edge when it comes to lasting longer than synthetic or softer materials, but they can become damaged. Grit and dirt that get ground into the surface will wear away the layers of stone over time, so cleaning and routine maintenance are necessary. In particular, regular sweeping and annual polishing and sealing will keep them looking beautiful and prevent wear and damage.

Different types of tile cutters may work best depending on the type of tile you are cutting and the size of your project. There are two main types of tile cutters: manual and electric. Manual tile cutters are quick and easy to use for small projects and softer tile materials, but they can only make straight cuts. Electric tile cutters make light work of big projects and can cut through harder materials.
