"Raphael is a good, hard working honest man with a good crew. My only suggestion is you must solidfy an exact date of work. We hired him to start after the 18th of July, and he started much later. We had to call him and ask what's up? There has been many rains this summer, which does cause a backlog for landscapers. So confirm the date of work and Raphael and his workers will do a great job."

Lily Pad was founded in 1995 and incorporated in 2001 by our founder Robert W. Bellek. He had a vision to design and create water gardens, water features, ponds, waterfalls, streams, fountains, and natural pools with a combination of his unique creativity and using Mother Nature's beauty as a guide. Bringing water to the landscape by protecting the integrity of the land and the environment was his key to success. This simple formula and the commitment to provide the very best craftsmanship and use of the highest quality materials on the market today have made us the best in the water feature industry to date.

"The process was very smooth. Sheerkahn arrived on time and completed the project same day just as they had indicated. They had to dig up the front yard to replace the leaky pipe with the new one, but did a good job filling in the trench. The team was very courteous and kept us informed on the progress. Also showed us exactly where the leak was coming from."

"I had framing issues re-corrected on a new construction 2 family dwelling. Terry and his framer "Brasil" did quality work by re-framing the ceiling and the arch on the 2nd floor balcony. They did structural repairs and corrections since the previous framers botched up the house.  Terry was responsive and helpful throughout the whole ordeal. I would definitely recommend TMC Construction for general contracting issues. They do neat and quality work at a reasonable price. Also, it is a plus that he is aware and knowledgeable with the framing codes  Jersey City enforces. He made sure everything was done correctly for the framing to pass inspection.

Fountains questions, answered by experts

When deep cleaning your koi pond, transfer fish to a clean, uncontaminated container at least one foot deep, like a large bucket, tub, or kiddie pond. Fill the container with their existing pond water to avoid shocking them, and place the container in full or partial shade. When it’s time to reintroduce them into the pond, slowly add the new water to the container before adding the fish and container water back into the pond.

Yes, your fish should stay alive in a frozen pond if you winterize it properly. By ensuring your pond has enough oxygen, good water quality, and a hole to release harmful gases, your pond and fish have the best chance of staying alive and healthy. However, if you have tropical fish, they should be overwintered indoors.

Lifespans vary by material and manufacturer, but pond liners last anywhere from 10 to 75 years. For example, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pond liners have a life expectancy of up to 20 years. Other types of pond liners, including those made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), can last 40 to 50 years.

Fountain maintenance is an important part of having a clean foundation in the first place. To keep your fountain water clean, you can use a water additive designed specifically to limit scale, algae, and other buildup in fountains. Or opt to use white vinegar as a pantry-ready water additive.

Smaller, pondless water features like bird baths, self-contained fountains, and bubbling rocks are much lower maintenance than their counterparts that include ponds. Pondless features help you avoid high pond maintenance costs and allow you to spend more time enjoying the water feature and less time on upkeep.
