"Everything went very well. Richard and his crew were very professional and friendly. They worked non stop until the job was completed. Some of my neighbors will be using them to do their driveways. If I need work done in the future I will not hesitate to call Suburban Asphalt. I will refer them to anyone looking to have their driveways, etc. done."

"Thiago was very responsive when  I called him to discuss the project and request for a price quote. I asked for a plan to do the front porch and landing, the side walkway and the entire back patio. He came promptly to do a site review and delivered a price quote and options within 2 days.

Since I was using Classic Pavers for the first time, I decided to go first for Phase 1 of the project - just the front porch and landing and repair existing pavers in the back patio and side walk.

I was extremely impressed with the work done by Classic Pavers

1) Thiago has a very professional crew who came in Friday morning to prep the site and denmolish existing concrete
2) Within one and half days they had my front porch and landing with a brand new well laid out ledgestone pavers
3) All the work was done exactly to specifications and the crew left the propertly after a thorough clean-up and inspection

I definitley plan to use Classic Pavers for phase 2 of the project later this year. They are highly recommended."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

While water-related pressure caused by poor drainage is one common cause of paver cracking, other factors can include ground movement beneath pavers, heavy loads and wear and tear over the pavers, and climates with constant freeze-thaw cycles. In general, pavers should be resealed every three to five years to prevent cracking.

To ensure you hire a reliable and experienced paving company, you should start by finding companies in your area that have at least five to ten years of experience working in your neighborhood. Next, rule out companies with poor reviews online or a series of complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau. Since driveways affect your curb appeal, you should also ask each company for references and pictures of recent work to make sure the work the company does is professional and high quality. Finally, check that the company is licensed and insured.

A traditional driveway gate isn’t your only option when installing a barricade in front of your driveway. A security gate like a swing gate, double swing gate, bi-folding gate, vertical gate, or pivot gate could work just as well as your driveway gate—if not better for your home depending on which qualities you’re after. Like sliding driveway gates, many of these alternatives work with automatic features that simplify entering and exiting your property.

The ideal distance between stepping stones depends on your design preference. A general rule is to place them about 24 inches apart from center to center to match an average person's stride. Another common approach is to leave about 6 inches of space between the edges of each stone; this can be adjusted to fit the path's total length without cutting pavers. If you plan to plant between the stones, leave at least 6 to 8 inches of space to give the plants room to grow.

While blacktop is a type of asphalt, the terms should not be used interchangeably, as not all asphalt qualifies as blacktop. The primary differences are in their composition, production process, and ideal applications. Blacktop contains more stone than other types of asphalt and is heated to a higher temperature during production—300°F or more—while hot-mix asphalt is heated to between 275°F and 300°F. The ratio of bitumen (a tar-like crude oil) is a key differentiator, though sources vary: some state blacktop has less bitumen, making it less durable, while others claim it has a higher ratio. Due to these differences, asphalt is generally more durable and better for high-traffic areas like highways and streets, while blacktop is more suitable for playgrounds and residential driveways. For a driveway project, it is best to consult a professional to determine the most appropriate material.
