"Rolando helped our 90 year daughter of stained glass window. After 4 years in our house and quite a few rejections he took on the job. It was not an easy one. He removed the stained glass sections carefully and brought it to a stained glass restorer in Brooklyn. He then brought it to NJ to have them encased in double insulated glass. He then installed and recommended an excellent carpenter to restore the mouldings. It actually looks like it’s brand new. All of this was done at the exact estimate he gave with no surprises. I absolutely recommend Glass By Ro and would give them 10 stars if I could."

"Steve and Alex were incredibly great. I was referred by another company when needing a large decorative mirror hung in a dining room. Steve and Alex were extremely professional. Called prior to arrival and were very courteous and did an outstanding installation in record time and with what appeared to be ease and expertise. I would absolutely recommend them and consider the pricing an incredible value for the services provided in my home. Would hire them for this and other glass and mirror installations in the future in a second!"

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

Bathroom mirrors weigh between 6 and 13 pounds, depending on the size. A 16x20-inch mirror weighs 6 pounds, while a 24x36-inch bathroom mirror weighs 12.5 pounds. Large mirrors, such as a 30x40-inch mirror, weigh 46 pounds. When installing or hanging a bathroom mirror, have a neighbor or partner assist you in lifting and holding the mirror in place. A second set of eyes can also help ensure the mirror is centered and level.

It can be. While not all smart glass comes soundproof, you can buy smart glass made specifically to be soundproof.

Yes, you can hire someone to hang a mirror in your home if you’re unable to tackle the job yourself. You can search for nearby mirror installers, but often, your best bet is a local handyperson. If you’re having other work done in the same room, such as plumbing, drywall, or electrical, those contractors are likely able to help hang the mirror as well—no need to hire someone else.

The size of your mirror depends on the size of your vanity and personal preference. Most people prefer a mirror that is 1 to 2 inches narrower than the width of their vanity, while others like a mirror that’s the same width as their vanity. Remember that the mirror should sit 5 to 10 inches above your faucet when choosing dimensions.

You can add glass to your existing kitchen cabinet doors with a few tools and some patience. We recommend following the DIY steps listed above, which include cutting a panel for the glass, cutting and adding the glass, and reattaching your cabinetry. If these steps seem too complicated or you’d rather have the peace of mind of a professional installation, hire a cabinet installation pro to handle this project for you.
