"The insulation crew was prompt, professional, and did a fantastic job installing my new insulation. I highly recommend this company for anyone in need of insulation services."
"The insulation has made a significant difference in my home. Prior to the insulation I had so many drafts and cold areas, now .y hone is much warmer and no drafts. I'm also saving on fuel cost. I'm 100% ?"
"They were fabulous. We could not have been happier with the work. They were so efficient and did such a great job. They cleaned up after themselves. They did an awesome job. I would recommend them to anyone!
We got 3 estimates to insulate approx 2500 sq ft of attic and install insulation in foundation crawl space. Howard from Metro gave us estimate of $4500 for 15" of cellulose insulation for the attic..that was twice the amount of insulation from the lowest estimate ( 7" + crawlspace $3000), but didn't include crawlspace. Highest estimate was approx $6,000 for 12"+ crawlspace. Howard from Metro said we would be better off with more insulation in attic and over garage then with less and insulation in crawlspace. He brought in at no cost to us, someone to do infrared scan of house for energy leakage. How was found to be tight but he recommended to better seal front door (I did myself). We went with Howard, crew showed up on time, did what they had to, very polite, clean. Oh...almost forgot...he also installed two ducts from bathroom exhaust fans that were vented into attic (no charge)...I was having that section of roof redone in spring and roofers attached vents in roof to ducts (went very smooth). I would highly recommend Metro."
"Greg did a good job explaining the benefits of cellulose insulation and explaining how our existing attic insulation was deficient. The confirmation call 2-days prior was appreciated. Matt and Wally did a great job blowing in the cellulose insulation and cleaning up afterwards with a vac. Both were punctual, courteous, and listened to my questions/concerns."
"We had been living in our house for 5 years and although the kitchen was a new addition, every winter my wife & I had noticed how noticeably the temperature differentiated especially after the winter of 2014/15. And because it was a dirt floor with some wood and old construction debris strewn about. I was not so keen on staying down there. In doing my own investigation there was some piping and insulation under floor. So when investigating estimates we called a number of "green" companies. Out of the three companies that came, only Frank Petrullo with Eco Green Solutions, noticed the mold and a water leak coming from fridge line. He took the time to show me where the water was coming, how mold had proliferated on the wood floor joists and beams. The dirt floor was somewhat moist and light was visible from outside along foundation rim contributing to the mold and moisture in crawl space. He explained each of our options and detailed the steps in sections of each estimate. We opted to have a plumber fix the water leak, then franks crew came in, cleaned up the mold, then layed down the crawl space membrane, finally insulating floor & rim joist. All in under two days. The crew showed up on time, left the open sections of the house clean, and we immediately noticed a difference in kitchen and rest of house. Walking around bare foot in kitchen is more comfortable, the kitchen is less noisy, and house humidity is maintained. "
"Joe did a great job on this, our dining room was a add on to connect the original home and the garage and had no insulation and boy in the winter it was unusable as well as the kitchen basically (the best part of the house). Joe came and drilled small holes in the attic floor that they sealed up later to allow for blowing in the insulation. And they cleaned up well. we have a 20 month old but there was nothing left over for the baby to put in her mouth. Joe is great! Our dining room is toasty and the kids can play in there year-round Plus they are were less than half of the expensive "efficiency" guys PSEG sent over. Those providers wanted to charge $10,000+ for basically the same job."
"Mark Group was great to work with, very knowledgeable, professional and responsive. We really got the sense that they were experts, and felt the most comfortable with their proposal and recommendations. Our 1950 ranch-style home developed significant mold in the attic, requiring a new roof/ventilation, mold removal and, as a final step, new insulation. Mark Group was very helpful in advising us about potential considerations with roof replacement in addition to the energy/insulation component they were focused on. The team did a terrific job, were very respectful of our home and property and completed the work in a single day. "
"I was emailed photos of the step by step removal of old insulation, mold treatments ant the poly and R30 insulation install and everything went well, I'm out of state and JohnForsyth was my contact and he keep us informed. A project well done. "
Your home's location, budget, and the type of insulation you’re using are just a few of the factors that can help you choose the right insulation. For example, blown-in insulation is typically used in attic spaces, while batts and rolls are ideal for floors and walls. Blown-in insulation is usually a good option if you're adding more insulation to an area that already has some, but not enough.
All garage doors, particularly newly installed models, add value to your home. Higher-quality and higher-priced doors increase the ROI, so a well-insulated custom garage door increases the value of your home more than a poorly-insulated stock model. Updating a garage door boasts the second-highest home improvement ROI, at nearly 95%.
Most homeowners installing blown-in insulation as a one-off DIY project should simply rent a blower. They tend to be very heavy, and contractor-grade machines can cost $13,000 to $16,000.
Heavily exceeding building code requirements for insulation not only wastes money on materials but can also lead to ventilation and moisture problems. In most cases, the minimum amount of insulation required by code is perfectly adequate.
The R-value is a rating that measures an insulation's thermal resistance—in other words, how well it insulates. A higher R-value provides more protection for your pipes, and all pipe insulation materials should have an R-value listed on the product description or label. Each insulation type has its own R-value, which typically falls between one and five for most pipe insulation. When making a selection, Energy.gov recommends choosing a pipe wrap that is at least one inch thick, and the International Code Council (ICC) suggests choosing a material with an R-value of at least 3.
