"Awesome. Danny and his crew were great to work with. They planted a lovely dogwood, flowers for 5 clay pots, 5 hanging pots, 5 concrete vases, 2 concrete boxes, and a large wood planter. They transplanted a flowering bush I wanted to keep, cleaned out and raised the soil level of the wood box (size approx 6x8 feet) so the perennials and annuals could be seen. We discussed the colors I wanted, he shared photos of his suggestions, and made adjustments based on my feedback. My front, side and backyards now look wonderful! Next year I plan to work with him starting April and not August :-). I recommend them highly."

"I always had very clear communication with this company. They always responded to emails. Sometimes both the wife and husband would respond together. But they stopped responding when I asked them to halt mowing because I seeded. They mowed over my freshly planted seeds. I emailed them, they apologized, and I asked them to pause mowing again, because I was going to reseed. I got no reply and they came and mowed over the second seeding job I did, undoing work I did twice. They were upset I did my own work so they sabotaged it, then wouldn't apologize when I called after their second mess up. Go with professionals, not this company who does things emotionally and unethically."

"Contacted 3 chimney repair companies listed on this website. All with A ratings. Needed repair to one masonry chimney crown and possibly a replacement cap for the home oil burner vent. Above All Chimney and Masonry rep arrived on time for estimate and inspected both locations. He advised the oil burner cap was in good shape and did not need replacement. He completed a written estimates for two different methods for repairing the crown before leaving. One of the other companies never showed up. The rep from the third company never inspected the oil burner vent and tried to sell me a spray sealer treatment for masonry. Told I would get telephone call estimate. A day later received a call with an expensive estimate for cap replacement, crown repair, and sealer treatment. Contacted Above All and set appointment within a week to complete the repair. Arrived on time and completed repair quickly."

"Extremely disappointed in lack of service, accountability, communication and honesty. Based on good reviews in Angies List, we hired Madden to build a berm and plant 15 Arbor Vitae trees. Asked him specifically if planting in the summer heat was a problem, he assured us it was not. Within a week, two trees were dying. In less than a month, six more were browning and dying or dead. When calling Madden to address this he first stated we did not purchase the “optional warranty” on the trees. We quickly pointed out no such warrantee was ever mentioned and not listed in a single quote or email. In addition, every home and garden center provides a one year warrantee on trees and plants. After replacing one, he grudgingly agreed to replace four of the six dead trees and it took repeated emails and calls to get him to do that. A few others are not looking so good. To add to his growing list of double speak and inconsistency, he said we shouldn’t plant the replacement trees until the heat was over – a complete contradiction to what he told us before (see paragraph one). Even though we bought replacements for the dead trees he refused to plant with our own money, he wanted to charge us to replant those. We refused. I have used many local contractors for work on our home, some in the tens of thousands of dollars. I treat them fairly and pay on time. I have given many positive reviews here for my contractors and a few negative ones as well. My expectations are simple – value for what is paid, standing by your work, accountability for problems, and honesty. Madden Landscaping fell short in all areas. They are the worst company I have ever dealt out of dozens of contractors. See the pictures attached. Would you pay nearly $2000 for a row of trees that looked like this within 6 weeks? If you did, would you expect the landscaper who did this to stand behind their work? I have heard Angie’s List removes negative reviews for vendors who pay for advertising. I am also posting this on Consumer Checkbook, Yelp, Google reviews, and will be filing a complaint with the BBB."
