"Don't bother getting three quotes - I have done this for you. 24 Seven may not provide a lowball quote just to get your business but they won't be anywhere near the highest quote - you will get a fair reasonable quote from true professionals. We wanted to install a ceiling fan in our living room that we bought from Home Depot so we checked home Depot's installation services - the price was ridiculously high. Then I went on Home Advisor and got another quote - it was less than Home Depot but still very high for what I considered to be a two hour job. 24 Seven's quote was the lowest of the three and their workmanship is unmatched. By coincidence the person who installed the ceiling fan was the same service technician that installed our attic fan two years ago under extreme heat conditions. Jonathan is polite, cares about what the customer wants and does quality workmanship. I am one of those people that needs everything perfect and Jonathan meets and exceeds my standards every time. Everyone at some point will need an electrician so it is comforting to know that when I need an electrician I no longer have to go through the painstaking task of getting multiple quotes and then hoping that he job is completed on time and to my satisfaction. It is comforting to know that I have my electrician and it is 24 Seven - they are the best!"

"They did an incredible job with the lighting in our kitchen! They installed new recessed lights throughout, a striking fixture over the island, and beautiful cabinet lighting that ties it all together. The space is so much brighter and modern now. The work was done cleanly, on time, and with great attention to detail"

"Review by Jen and Dale in Turnersville, NJ Had electrical outlet wiring upgraded, added exhaust fan and vent system to bathroom. From beginning, providing detailed estimate, setting appointment, honoring appointment time, to successful completion, this experience was excellent. Wonderful, professional customer service, respectful, clean, good value for the money. Will certainly recommend to family and friends. Have contracted with them again for another major bathroom renovation. Put your mind at ease. Go with the best!!"

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

There are several telltale signs to let you know that your ceiling fan needs servicing or replacement. For instance, if it’s wobbling, rotating too slowly, or if your ceiling fan is making noise such as squeaks, buzzes, and thumps, it’s time to have it looked at by a professional. Not only may it indicate a potential problem with the fan itself, but it could also signal a red flag that it’s improperly assembled or there’s an issue with the wiring.

The direction you want your ceiling fan to move in depends on the season you’re in. During summer, you want it to move counterclockwise to produce a cooling downdraft. During winter, you want it to move clockwise to circulate warm air throughout the room.

If you’re removing a ceiling fan without visible screws, start by locating the fan canopy—a round cover placed above the fan blades and motor. There should be a thin ring that can be turned counterclockwise to remove the canopy and reveal the screws. After unscrewing the fan, you can disconnect the wires and remove the entire fan from the mounting hardware. For safety, make sure the fan switch is turned off before you remove the canopy. It may be easier to remove the fan blades first, too.

Essential tools for ceiling fan installation include a ladder, screwdriver, pliers, wire strippers, and a circuit tester. If the ceiling is angled or features unique configurations, ensure the availability of a compatible mounting bracket.

Generally, a ceiling fan should be mounted at least seven feet from the floor in the center of your room with a wall clearance of around 18 inches. If your ceiling is more than eight feet high, it’s recommended by experts that the ceiling fan be mounted around eight to nine feet from the ground. This helps ensure a better quality of circulated airflow.
