"Roca redid our driveway for us, added Belgium blocks and fixed some concrete work around a storm drain. His team did a nice job on all of that work and his pricing is competitive. I appreciated a few proactive recommendations that Roca made that tweaked the job but made things look better at the end of the day. I’d hire Roca again."

") The quoted price for driveway concrete patching was reasonable and I and my neighbor went with the company. 2) He gave us a quote for repairing a sidewalk concrete slab that was pushed up by tree roots. He said he might be able to lower the cost after he removed the slab and saw the underlying conditions. The conditions were not as bad as anticipated and he lowered the cost. 3) The night before the work was to be done, he called to let us know that he was delaying the job by one day due to the heavy rain forecast for that day. It did rain heavy and he showed up on time the next morning. 4) My wife noted that he always showed up when he said he would, and he promptly returned phone calls. 5) This was the best experience that I've had with a contractor in forever. I will definitely use Elvis Construction again. Honest, professional and fair. 5 * for everything He came at the time he said he would. he"

"This job could not have gone any better! After requesting a few quotes via Angie's list, Richard got back to me within 24 hours to inquire about the job. Turns out he was doing a few driveways in my development the next day and said he would stop by and have a look at my driveway. After a brief chat about options for the driveway, he gave me the price (very reasonable) and said he would be back later in the morning to perform the work. Richard and his team showed up as scheduled, sealed the driveway (looks awesome) and they were on their way! This may have been the most economical, highest quality, lowest stress work I have ever had on our house! Highest rating for all aspects of the service for sure."

"This company resurfaced my driveway which was completely repaved by another service only 5 years ago. The previous work did not hold up so I chose to resurface using JHR. What a beautiful job they did…they removed a portion of the driveway, addressed the cracks and filled in a very large hole which had developed. I am completely satisfied with the work and received a fair price. It was worth waiting to get on their schedule….next year they will seal the driveway…great company to work with."

Concrete Driveways questions, answered by experts

You should always power wash your driveway before applying a sealant. At any given time, your driveway could be covered with algae and moss, tire residue, oil and rust stains, and any combination of leaves, twigs, and dirt. If you skip power washing, you’ll be trapping the dirt and grime beneath the sealant and lowering its chance of cementing itself to your driveway. While you can expect the cost to pressure wash your driveway to average between $100 and $350, the few hundred dollars beats an unattractive driveway or paying extra to reapply your driveway sealer.

When hiring a professional to pressure wash your home, it's crucial to choose a company that is bonded, licensed, and insured. This protects you from liability if any accidents or property damage occur during the service; otherwise, the cost could fall on you. Before making a decision, vet at least three different contractors. Conduct thorough research by reading customer reviews, looking at examples of their previous work, and verifying the company's license. Before signing a contract, ensure you receive a written estimate that details all project costs. It's also wise to ask potential contractors a series of questions to gauge their professionalism and experience, such as:

  • How many years of experience do you have?

  • What are your credentials?

  • What cleaning methods do you use?

  • Do you have a workmanship warranty and insurance?

  • What is your availability?

  • What is your policy if you damage my property?

  • How long will the job take to complete?

  • How much do you charge?

  • What is your cancellation policy?

  • Do you offer a customer satisfaction guarantee or any additional services?

Some homeowners have luck using pressure washers, but this only works for old or weaker concrete sealants and with very powerful pressure washers. You’ll get better results by pressure washing water-based sealants. However, it’s worth trying on any sealant if you’re hoping for the least toxic, least expensive, and most DIY-friendly option. To try this method, rent or buy the most powerful pressure washer you can find and take several passes at the concrete, completely pressure washing the entire area. You may need to repeat the process multiple times to see results.

Whether you need to winterize your pressure washer depends on where it will be stored. If it's kept in a location where temperatures could drop to freezing, any liquid left in the water pump can freeze, expand, and cause severe damage to the machine. To prevent this, you can add antifreeze to the pump. While emptying the machine with compressed air is an alternative, it can be a tedious process and may not remove all the liquid. If you can store the pressure washer in a relatively warm place with no risk of freezing, you won't need to add antifreeze. However, regardless of storage conditions, it is good practice to empty the gas chamber and refresh the oil before storing it for the winter.

Excavators work in tandem with dump trucks to haul away excess dirt and soil. The excavator will dig into the ground and move the excess dirt into a pile. Using a backhoe, the specialist can fill a truck with excavated soil from that pile. They will then drive the truck to a different location where they can dump the material.
