"After I called, Jose came over to look at the deck the next day and gave his recommendations. He explained that after the power-washing, the deck need to be completely dried before sanding, so rainy days will push out the work. Paint should be applied when the deck is not excessively hot. My deck is exposed to the sun most of the day, so hot sunny days are also bad days for the last part of the job. I appreciate the information ahead of time, so I know what to expect. The job could not start for several weeks because of hurricane weather or days with strong sun. Once we have a stretch of good-weather days, Jose started the job and completed within days. He cleaned up the debris after every visit. The deck was in bad shape and it looks great now, hopefully for many years to come."

Our house was double the size that was offered in the deal but he was kind enough to send us another price and he was really nice about it and accommodating. He could have charged us twice the price and he didn't he just gave us another special deal. He did an excellent job and I would highly recommend him. (10/14/2016) UPDATE Bob had offered a special deal through Angie's List to clean and scrub the roof . He said due to our home supposedly being larger then that deal offered, we would have to pay him extra for that but he would still give us a break on the total. He cleaned the roof, but it was still dirty. Bob said to wait for it to rain and it will clean the rest that was left, so we did. After the rain it still looked horrible. We reached out to him and requested he redo the job. He said he would and since then many call have been made to him with no response. We definitely are not happy with his lack of response to us especially after he had gone out of his way to make sure the house was completely clean."

"This was an involved project, involving both the deck and fence replacement, which Steel Penn did, in coordination with a second contractor who installed a paving stone porch underneath the deck. Since that work had to be done after the demolition of the original deck, the work of the two had to be coordinated. The other contractor did not quite adhere to the schedule, and that held up the project overall a bit, but Steel Penn folks were willing to reschedule the various parts of their work, so the net effect was smaller than it might have been. We are very pleased with the new deck. They did a great job, and left a very clean worksite. One of our neighbors is already planning to call them!"
