Small jobs welcome

Customers say: True professional

"The carpet was a nightmare, 4 doors, six corners, a cut out for linoleum, and an immovable desk. Several ridges to be stretched out. The carpet was at least 20 years old. They gave me a reasonable estimate, explained how to prepare, came at the appointment time, finished in a few hours, and did a great job. I had a pet at home who was not frightened. The cost and mess of replacing the carpet was not feasible. But it looks like I have a new carpet - excellent work."

"this was absolutely a great experience. I don’t typically take the time to leave reviews, especially a positive one to be honest, but this company really went above and beyond to help me out in a very difficult time. I was able to talk to them like a human being, and they really did me a massive favor and saved me from a world of difficulty. They not only did the floors, but they did my cabinets. They did my trim, they did my baseboards, they did my Sheetrock, they did my sealant, they did a bunch of painting, as well as the floors and everything came out perfect."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

Several types of flooring can be installed over existing tile, provided the current tiles are in good condition. Options include vinyl, vinyl plank, laminate, engineered wood, hardwood, carpet, and cork. Among these, various types of vinyl and engineered wood are the most common choices due to their versatility. Alternatively, you can install new tiles on top of your current ones if you like tile floors but want to update the look. Before proceeding with any new flooring, it's crucial to ensure your existing tiles are not damaged; otherwise, they will need to be removed first.

Costs depend on carpet type, labor rates, and additional services like padding or transitions.

When it comes to flooring installers, licensing laws vary from state to state. Even if your state doesn’t require your flooring installer to have a license, your municipality or city might, so it’s a good idea to check with your town before getting started. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local general contractor guidelines.

Hiring an unlicensed flooring installer could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

The difference between a 40-oz. and 60-oz. carpet is the carpet face weight, meaning the 60-oz. carpet weighs 20 ounces more per square yard. When looking at two similar carpets of the same material and type, the 60-oz. carpet face weight likely indicates higher quality and more durability due to heavier carpet fibers.

Yes. When installed properly, the strong adhesive on carpet tiles keeps them in place while also allowing homeowners the flexibility to peel up an individual tile and replace it if they need to. It’s important to keep in mind that the adhesive on your carpet tiles may take some time to cure, so it’s best to leave them alone for a couple of days after you first install them.
