"Very professional and the work was done with great quality and excellence. I had another company come and refused to replace the 1 tile. So I was extremely happy with the work quality and price."

"Fabiano replaced the trim on my front door and other general home repairs. He is kind and respectful and very knowledgeable about contracting and using materials that are long lasting. His pricing is fair and the job is well done! Here are some before and after photos of my door!"

"It was a one stop shopping experience. When you are purchasing granite, quartz or marble countertops you go to a supplier where you choose the particular stone. Then, that stone is delivered to the contractor or the contractor has to pick it up. We started the process that way. We went to two suppliers. We say a few we liked. Then Sinai, the owner of Empire, came to measure to give us a price. He informed us that he has granite in his warehouse just as the others. If we choose from his stock we could same money which I believe we did."

"Beautiful job! The kitchen counters have nevaska granite, and perla venata quartzite for the kitchen bar. Went in one Saturday, founds the ones we liked, took samples home to test for staining, etching, scratches - both passed with flying colors. Went back the next Saturday to pick our slabs, they came and measured, went back for placement on the stone and they installed the following Friday. They were in and out in a little over 2 hours. Very nice bunch of guys who did a beautiful job, didn't break or ruin anything - it was a pleasure to have a job run smooth and everything look better than when they came. We love the new stone, it looks like we have a bigger kitchen and the stone is so beautiful - we couldn't be happier. I would definitely recommend KOL - they have an extensive selection, will answer ALL the questions you may have, and do a wonderful installation."

Marble and Granite questions, answered by experts

Quartz countertops are known for their durability, but they aren’t indestructible. Quartz countertops can crack under extreme pressure, like when experiencing a heavy impact. The same can happen with regular exposure to high temperatures. Finally, improper installation makes the quartz more vulnerable.

Unsealed granite is more susceptible to staining and other damage. Regularly sealing your granite countertops decreases the chances you’ll need to repair damaged countertops in the future. It also keeps it looking shiny rather than becoming dull over time. You can check whether your granite needs resealing by putting a few drops of water on the counter and waiting 15 minutes to see whether the water permeates the surface.

Common issues include cracks, stains, scratches, and chips. These can occur from impacts, spills, or improper maintenance. Addressing them promptly can prevent further damage and maintain the countertop’s aesthetic and functional integrity.

Yes, most professional repair services include the application of sealants for weatherproofing or waterproofing. This process helps protect the repaired area from moisture, weather damage, and future wear, which can improve durability and energy efficiency. It is always best to confirm with your contractor or service provider if sealing is included in their repair process.

No, you should not put a hot pan or pot directly on a quartz countertop. While quartz is generally heat-resistant, the resin binders used in its manufacturing are sensitive to extreme heat from items exceeding 150 degrees Fahrenheit. This can damage the resin, leading to discoloration, burns, or even cracking. To prevent permanent damage, always use trivets or hot pads for hot cookware.
