"Brad, gave us the estimate at first and it was a very educational experience. He took the time to explain all the intricate details of the insulation process. Nino, Drew and James were likewise very informative and polite. They also suggested some things I could improve upon to increase my savings through the winter and summer months. We just had it done so it is too early to tell how much of a difference it is going to make but I can’t wait. I should be all set now. Bring on the cold!!!!"

Small jobs welcome

"Craig and his crew did a great job with the insulation project. Spray foam was applied to the knee wall attic and cellulose blown in my top attic floor. Craig and his crew was courteous and respectful of my property and did a great job with the cleanup. I highly recommend Craig for any insulation projects you may have. It is a great investment on your property. Hire NP Energy!"

Customers say: Quick response

"AMAZING! Brittin fixed our insulation in the attic which involved removing old batting, spraying in new insulation, and a few other projects to seal up fixtures, adding exhaust fans, replacing attic stairs etc. We've noticed a change instantly in the efficiency of our cooling system - it hardly has to run at all now to reach the desired temperature and it holds the temperature really well. I was so impressed with how thorough they were, right from the initial inspection and quote through to cleaning up their work area. The team left my place looking cleaner than it was to start! Everything was laid out clearly in the quote and as a bonus, they are approved to offer the NJ Clean Energy rebates etc so can work with you to answer questions on this and make sure you're getting the best price. The team explained everything while they were working and asked questions along the way to ensure everything was OK with me. They were just all-round polite and a pleasure to deal with. THANK YOU SO MUCH TO YOUR WHOLE TEAM!"

"I RECENTLY HAD MY ATTIC INSULATION REPLACED BY MASTER ATTIC. ALEX CAME OUT RIGHT ON SCHEDULE AND GAVE ME A FAIR PRICE. ( I DID HAVE 4 OTHER ESTIMATES) THE CREW LEAD BY ROBERTO WAS AMAZING. THEY WERE VERY CONSIDERATE, CAREFUL IN MAKING SURE THE AREA WAS SEALED OFF AND WERE VERY CAREFUL OF MY PERSONAL BELONGINGS. THEY DID A GREAT JOB IN REMOVING OLD INSULATION , VACUUMING OUT THE ATTIC ,SPRAYED AREA AND SEALED ANY OPENINGS. BEFORE THEY BROUGHT IN NEW INSULATION, THEY ASKED ME IF I WISHED TO TO VIEW THE ATTIC AND I DID. I WAS AMAZED EVEN AT THIS POINT, HOW CLEANED EVERYTHING LOOKED . (THIS INSULATION HAD BEEN UP THERE FOR 70 YEARS) NEW INSULATION WAS INSTALLED AND IT LOOKS GREAT. THE CREWED CLEANED UP EVERYTHING , EVEN VACUUMED THE AREA IN THE ROOM. ALL BAGS OF OLD INSULATION WERE REMOVED PROMPTLY AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Yes, you should insulate behind shower walls. Insulating helps prevent heat loss, which keeps the shower or tub from getting too cold and helps maintain a comfortable temperature in your bathroom. Additionally, proper insulation and air sealing can help prevent wall rot and moisture buildup. It is recommended to use a high R-value rated foam insulation combined with a vapor barrier.

There are two reasons why cellulose insulation repels rodents (and insects). First, the insulation has been treated with boric acid, which is a natural pest-repellent. In addition, the loose-fill style of cellulose creates less-than-ideal conditions for mice and other rodents to nest and burrow, helping to keep them at bay.

To keep cold out, look for treatments that sit close to the window frame and are made from thick, insulating materials. Thermal curtains, cellular shades, window quilts, and insulated shutters can all help retain heat. Layering window treatments, like pairing lined curtains with cellular shades, can provide even better insulation by further reducing drafts and heat transfer.

Yes, basement insulation needs a vapor barrier due to its susceptibility to moisture seeping in from the outside of the house. You should install a moisture barrier before you install insulation or purchase insulation that comes prebuilt with a moisture barrier to avoid water damage in your insulation and costly mold and water remediation expenses.

EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System) siding can last from 20 to 60 years, with some properly maintained systems lasting even longer. The exact lifespan depends heavily on several factors, most notably the quality of the initial installation and the consistency of maintenance.

Factors that can shorten the life of EIFS include:

  • Improper or poor-quality installation

  • Moisture intrusion

  • Damage from high winds, storms, or hail

  • Damaged flashing and sealant

  • Lack of regular maintenance and unfixed damage

To maximize the lifespan of your EIFS, it is crucial to hire an experienced and qualified professional for the installation. Additionally, regular maintenance—such as cleaning, repairing small cracks or blisters, and having the system professionally inspected—will help identify and resolve issues quickly, preventing long-term damage.
