37 years of experience

Founded by Robert Conti in 1988, TBC began as a small residential construction service in Monmouth County. With ambition and foresight, TBC quietly became a player in the commercial construction market. In 1995, Robert sought an interior fit-out retail project in Trenton for Levin Management, who at the time were one of the largest retail management companies in the country. Having completed the Trenton project on time, TBC began a 10 year relationship with the retail giant. Completing projects in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. Having compiled years of experience and growing a great nucleus of personnel and subcontractors, TBC turned its eyes on the General Contracting / Construction Management field. It is now, and still with an extensive hands on push, TBC can complete projects both big and small.

10 years of experience

Beyond Compare specializes in additions, kitchens, bathrooms, basements, decks and general remodeling. We are licensed and fully-insured. Our owner, Robert Lanfrank, has been in the home improvement industry for more than 27 years. We pride ourselves on our high-quality work and our attention to detail and cleanliness.

"We hired this company in the summer of 2021 to start work 10/25/2021. We found out in the process that the owner is not familiar with construction at all. His hired project managers and subcontractors were clearly incompetent. Work included an approximate 850 sq. ft addition on our home. There were so many things that went wrong, it’s difficult to list it all. To begin, work did not commence until 3/2022. The owner of this company hires subcontractors who have proved to be unprofessional and provide sub-standard work. Just a few to mention: After pouring concrete foundation, plumber had to drill through concrete to install plumbing for addition. The electrical, sheathing and framing inspections failed multiple times. The plumbing inspection failed because paperwork was not properly filed by the company. The initial framer was fired and we were never notified of new subcontractor. The concrete floor is three inches higher than it should be, resulting in us losing three inches of ceiling height. This problem was never been rectified. The concrete pad outside the sliding door had to be removed due to improper installation. Also, the drain in the pad was installed incorrectly. Has never been rectified by the subcontractor. The NEW contractor we have retained to complete the work has also noticed several issues: • There is a leak in the roof over the living/kitchen area from the deck above that will need to be addressed and rectified. (See pics) • The ceiling joists were cut down from 8 inches, as per the proof plans, to 6 inches and now need to be reviewed by the architect and structural engineer to determine what is the best remedial course of action. • Stairs off the deck will not pass inspection due to the risers being too high, contrary to code. The last straw was when he texted asking for more money for work to commence prior to due date because he had run out of funds. We ultimately fired him and hired another company. This is just a small look into what we have dealt with. All we can hope to educate the public to not use this company."

Since 2006 I've acquired, renovated, and sold (or held) over $25,000,000 of residential real estate. Real estate and construction are my passions. They (and real estate finance) are the only things I've done since college/MBA school. I'm a relationship driven entrepreneur interested in expanding my network and helping others make (and save) money on their project and in their portfolio. I also hold a NJ real estate brokerage licensed and mortgage loan originators license. Let's get connected for a mutually beneficial and long term relationship. Home Building questions, answered by experts

Whether it’s more affordable to gut a house than build a new one depends on the markets where you'd be buying and selling. However, it’s usually less expensive to renovate a home than to build new construction.

Most homeowners pay between $100,000 and $200,000 for demolition and remodeling costs, whereas the average cost to build a new home is between $139,000 and $531,300.

Yes, shipping container homes have a very high resale value if they’ve been well maintained over the years. You can resell this home similar to how you’d resell any home. The value depends on the market and the condition. As a bonus, you can transport many container homes depending on the design, which makes them easier to sell if the local market is challenging.

Home additions cost between $22,000 and $84,000, with the average addition totaling $51,000. Project costs can vary greatly depending on the type of addition and the required work to complete it. Homeowners can expect to pay between $80 and $210 per square foot for an addition. Conversions of existing space will sit toward the lower end of that range, while bump-outs and new construction add-ons will push toward the higher end.

Yes, a garage apartment is generally considered a valuable asset as long as the new structure has been legally built. It's important to weigh the cost to build a garage with an apartment against the cost to convert a garage to living space if you already have a garage.

How long it takes to build a log cabin depends on a variety of factors, including its size and design, and whether or not you have to clear the land. Construction can take a few weeks for a prefab log cabin on an established site, but up to eight or nine months for a custom cabin on undeveloped land. In comparison, the timeline to build a house is typically four to 12 months.
