"Suburban asphalt did a fantastic job repaving my driveway. The driveway is curved and bordered by a stone wall. The crew worked with skill and attention to quality, and they both removed the old and laid down the new asphalt without any damage to the wall. It meshes with the wall perfectly. In addition, my house is sited above street level, and Suburban made sure that the pitch of the driveway properly moves water away from the house and down the driveway to the street. Suburban did a great job at a fair price and was easy to work with throughout the process. Highly recommended."

"This company resurfaced my driveway which was completely repaved by another service only 5 years ago. The previous work did not hold up so I chose to resurface using JHR. What a beautiful job they did…they removed a portion of the driveway, addressed the cracks and filled in a very large hole which had developed. I am completely satisfied with the work and received a fair price. It was worth waiting to get on their schedule….next year they will seal the driveway…great company to work with."

Building a road on a slope requires careful planning and will normally require a drainage system underneath to prevent flooding and damage to the road over time. Asphalt edging secures the sides of your driveway to prevent crumbling and cracking over time. Most driveways have edges with a 45-degree grading. This helps transfer some of the stress from the asphalt to the ground underneath. If your driveway doesn’t have proper edging, the pressure from your car may break down the edges over time.

An ideal driveway gradient is between 2% and 5%. Anything lower than 1% or higher than 15% can cause problems for your car or property. A driveway with less than a 1% slope increases your likelihood of flooding and water damage, while a driveway with a 15% grade or higher can be too steep for safe traveling.
