"Ever was great, he was able to give me a quote that made sense for my outdoor painting job on our whole home. It was a mixed project between metal siding, brick and a wood retaining wall but he recommended the right paints and didnt cut corners. There was an issue with the paint store mixing the full gallons that didnt match the sample we had used and Ever took the lead to make sure we got what we agreed upon. I will use him again in the future and recommend him as a painter to all of my friends."

"Nick gave us a reasonable estimate and a good warranty(5 years) on their work. We had to wait awhile because of continual rain, but then they were here when things dried up. Julio (I hope I'm spelling that right) and his workers were unrelenting during their hours and days here. Their stamina and professional attitude and quality craftsmanship was refreshing. The house was carefully covered, taped and sprayed. That was the quick and relatively easy part. The difficult, labor intensive part was the deck and associated lattice work which was done in a very detailed manner. They left the house and grounds clean and neat. I am a very demanding homeowner and I found nothing wrong with their work and can only give them praise. Bravo!

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Satin paint is generally considered a better choice for woodwork—including trim, baseboards, cabinets, and doors—than flatter finishes like eggshell or matte. Its soft sheen enhances architectural details and stands up well to frequent cleaning and daily wear. Compared to eggshell and matte finishes, satin is more durable for high-touch areas because it is less porous and doesn't absorb dirt as easily. Matte finishes, in particular, are prone to scuffs and are harder to clean, making them less practical for surfaces like doors and cabinets.

Whether to brush or roll stain on wood depends on the project and your preference. Brushing is ideal for smaller, intricate areas and offers more control over the application, ensuring thorough coverage and penetration into the wood's grain.

Conversely, rolling is efficient for more extensive, flat surfaces and can save time. However, it is not always the best fit for textured or uneven wood. Some projects may benefit from combining both methods, using a brush for detail work and a roller for broader areas. Ultimately, the choice between brushing and rolling depends on the specific requirements of your staining project.

Yes, you can waterproof any wood that has not already been treated. A good way to test this is to splash some water on it. If the water starts to bead up, the wood is treated and most likely doesn’t need another coating.

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood to help prevent the boards from cracking. However, you must wait for the wood to dry out completely before applying any finish. Freshly treated wood can take weeks or even months to dry; a common recommendation is to wait three to six months. To check if the wood is ready, perform a simple water test: drip some water onto the surface. If the water beads up, the wood is still too wet and needs more time to dry. If the wood absorbs the water, it is dry enough to be painted or stained. You can proceed with building your deck or fence while the wood is still wet, but you will need to wait to apply the paint or stain.

Pricing depends on prep work, paint/stain choice, area size, scaffolding needs, and detailed trim inclusions like precision-balanced windowsills.
