"Current Electric Contracting LLC was efficient and professional in their overall response to our issue. We had to have a few breakers replaced in our panel. Their pricing was fair. We will definitely keep them in our contractor database and hire them again."

"Max was very informative regarding anything electrical related. In addition to what we called him for, he took the time out to fix our dimmer that had been broken for years. He was very friendly and focused on the job. Max was professional and extremely affordable compared to other electricians we received quotes from. I will definitely recommend him to all of my neighbors and anyone else who asks."

"He knows what he's doing. He's knowledgeable about electrical issues. The only problem I have with him is his knowledge of the English language. I couldn't get from him what the problem was or the cause of the problem. Nevertheless, he fixed whatever was causing the line to lose power or current."

"Lawrence was extremely responsive. He came the same day that I called him to take a look at the partial power issue in my building. We ended up having to get PSEG involved before we could resolve anything. He came back a 2nd time to meet PSEG the following week. The partial power issue apparently resolved itself that same day that he was present, no actual repair was done. The next day the partial power issue resurfaced. I called Lawrence to see if he had any suggestions, which I executed, but it did not turn the power back on. It was possible that the nor'easter had caused the issue, so I called PSEG to come out again. PSEG confirmed power was running to the building. In the end, I hired a different electrician who figured out the problem was the main which needed to be replaced. Lawrence did give me a reasonable estimate for a different job in the same building. I appreciated the fact that he came the same day I called him, and that he came back several days later to meet with the electric company. I did pay him for coming out both days, but I was a little disappointed that the issue was never resolved."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Your Fort Lee home likely needs electrical upgrades if you notice frequent breaker trips, have an outdated fuse box, or rely on knob-and-tube wiring. Homes with only 60-100 amp service, missing GFCI outlets, or lacking smoke detectors should also be evaluated. High-rise condos and older Tudor or Colonial homes often require panel upgrades or rewiring to support modern appliances and safety standards.

Helpful?

Electrical systems in Fort Lee benefit from regular maintenance, especially in older or high-rise buildings. Annual tasks include testing GFCI outlets, inspecting panels for corrosion, and checking outdoor outlets for weather damage. Every few years, schedule a professional safety inspection and replace surge protectors. Homes near the Hudson River or with pre-war wiring may need more frequent checks due to humidity and seasonal changes.

Helpful?

The average timeline for electrical projects in Fort Lee varies by project type and property age. For example, panel upgrades typically take 1-2 days, but permit approval can add 2-4 weeks. Whole house rewiring in older homes may require 3-7 days due to extra coordination. Quick jobs like outlet or switch installations are often completed in a few hours, especially in newer buildings.

Helpful?

Combining electrical work with other upgrades in your Fort Lee home is often efficient. For instance, during kitchen or bathroom renovations, adding GFCI outlets, dedicated circuits, or smart home features can be completed simultaneously. This approach can reduce labor time, streamline permit fees, and ensure all improvements meet current NJ electrical codes. In condos, coordinating with other trades may also help avoid multiple access charges.

Helpful?

Fort Lee has a range of electrical contractors, including master electricians, residential specialists, commercial and high-rise experts, smart home integrators, and emergency service providers. Some focus on single-family homes, while others are experienced with condo associations or advanced technology upgrades. When choosing a contractor, look for professionals familiar with local building management, permit processes, and the unique requirements of Fort Lee’s housing stock.
