"RECOMMENDATION of Garden Artisans We contacted Garden Artisans and several landscape companies near Princeton for consultation regarding replacement of aged rhododendrons, azaleas and evergreen shrubs damaged by wet and heavy snows in recent years. Garden Artisans was the first to reply to our inquiries and immediately scheduled a Saturday survey and consultation. Peter Jamet, the owner, came and discussed our objectives, and budget. We have a colonial home sited on a corner lot on 3 acres with old growth hardwoods in Princeton. As we don������������t have deer fencing and do have deer, we wanted deer-proof landscaping and natural looking plantings. Within a week of the consultation Peter was ready to make a present his design proposal. He brought scales drawings of the plantings across the front and side of our house and a bed near the driveway entrance surrounding our carriage lamppost and mailbox. Together with the drawings he had photos of every tree species, shrub, flower and grass proposed for the plantings. He described why he had chosen them. Part of his plan of scale and distribution was to create color throughout the seasons and evergreen color sustained throughout the year with certain elements of the planting. He has tailored the cost to our budget and offered both upgrade options and cost saving options for each of the specimen trees. He recommended the ideal time for planting so as to get the plantings successfully established before the winter. We set a date and Peter with his crew came and prepared the plot exactly as scheduled. Two weeks before the planting he provided photos of the exact specimen trees and shrubs to be installed. Once the beds were prepared Peter again came to position the specimens personally and ask our review and approval before actually putting the plants in the ground. Immediately after the planting we were taking a three week holiday and Peter provided attending and watering to ensure the health our new landscaping. He again came, unprompted and reviewed all the shrubs six weeks after planting. The plantings are now ten weeks in the ground and every plant is in excellent condition. We are extremely pleased with the design and selected species. It has been a pleasure working with Garden Artisans. The work was done exactly on schedule and was professional and very careful in removing old shrubbery and cleaning up and reseeding areas not to be replanted. The entire job was done within our budget in a very artfully conceived, professional and carefully planned manner. We have owned several homes and done projects of this scale but have never had this level of precision and care in the design, selection of specimens, planting and after-care. In other projects we have experienced a number of trees and shrubs dying within weeks of the planting and have had to pay to replace them. Garden Artisans insured our planting and, knock knock, until today we have no casualties in"

"We have a 3 storey house and the team at Brite Idea came out and put up the lights on the house. They had to come out a second day with a longer ladder to finish up but the end job was worth the wait. We did the lights around the bushes which balanced the others beautifully. We agreed to a 3 year contract which suits us since we love having the house lit up for the holidays. I'm sure we'll continue as long as we live here."

Initially contacted contractor through Angie's list.  Jeff Pasternak owner/operator responded immediately.  An appointment was scheduled for an estimate.  I wanted a stone border down the side of my driveway, and along the gardens in the front and side of my house.  I wanted several bushes, along with topsoil and mulch.  As I had never had professional landscaping done on my property, I was hoping for suggestions, rather he seemed hesitant with my requests.  He took pictures, measured, and would get back to me by the end of week.  I contacted him almost a week later after no response, and almost immediately he emailed an estimate along with pictures of my property with the enhancements we had discussed.  I really liked what he had done with the photos.  I responded with some concerns which he answered, and left it at that.

"Trevor came out to our house based on our neighbor's recommendation and gave us an estimate for a total redesign our our landscaping. This included excavating, removing an old cement walkway, all new plants and a paver walkway. We split the yard in two parts and he just finished part 1 (the back yard), which was top dressing & leveling, ripping out the old plants and redesigning the beds. I think they did a great job, were flexible when working around my other contractors, and fair priced. After our job was complete, Trevor came out to pick up his check and look at the work; some of the soil had settled due to a hard rain, so he had the guys come out two days later to re-soil and seed. We still have the big half of the job to do but we're pretty confident based on what we have seen so far."

"Originally hired Nick and the Creative Pavers team several years ago to design and install a complete backyard hardscape/landscape package including a paver patio, walkway, steps, lighting, wood deck, and fire pit.  At the time they were not active on Angie's List, so consider this a review of my entire relationship with them now and going back 5 years or so.  I can't begin to say enough about how great they have been.  Their original design and installation was exceptional, and they're follow-up and diligence to meeting they're original schedule commitment was great.  I was so pleased, I bought them back again several months later for another smaller job building a retaining wall and planter in my front yard.

Since those originals installs I have called them back twice for some minor maintenance and settling repairs.  Should point out the repairs were not needed due to poor quality of work, and were nothing more than the typical wear and tear/weather/settling issues you'd expect after 5 years.  Nick and Jack have consistently provided the same level of outstanding service and follow-up throughout our entire relationship.  Relationship is the operative word here, they are most definitely not your typical "here today, gone tomorrow" contractor.  They truly care about their customers and reputations and it shows in every interaction.  I would highly recommend them to anyone considering a hardscape/landscape project.

"We called MC electrical LLC and he came out within two days to give an estimate for our landscape lighting and had an estimate emailed over to us within 24-48 hours after coming out!!
