"David, the owner was very pleasant over the phone, and willing to agree to a price that I felt comfortable with. Gary was experienced, professional and handled my 15 year old window treatments with great care. When he returned, he re-installed the drapes with meticulous care, and he hung them even better than they were before. I would highly recommend them!"

Customers say: Quality work

"I found By Demand Installers to be prompt, professional and their work was excellent and installed my draperies to my satisfaction...even assisted me in ordering additional fabric to complete the window treatment, when I thought that the fabric was no longer available. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to friends."

"Excellent work, dependable, trustworthy, understanding, exceptional customer service. Our house is old so it is plaster and not drywall. The dining room was a mess-It had some water damage on one wall in addition to the ceiling and the molding was chewed when our pups were teething. Robert did an excellent job-the room looks beautiful and we are so happy with the end result. He cleaned up before he left, answered all my emails even after working hours and made sure I was happy with the work along the way. We will use his services again! Highly recommend! Very understanding with the dogs!"

Window Treatments questions, answered by experts

Yes, window manufacturers and installers can mull together three windows—or even more—for a more impressive appearance that lets maximum natural light into your home. However, you may have constraints regarding the total size of the wall opening. Your installer can help you determine what size wall opening is safe based on the structural load. In most cases, you can install additional supports to span the opening, like a steel I-beam, but this drastically increases the installation cost.

Not every home needs window capping. Whether or not you need to cap your windows depends on your climate and window frame materials. Wooden windows should have window capping if moisture is a problem. Arid climates like the Southwest may not need window capping due to low rainfall and low humidity.

There are several downsides to choosing casement windows for your home. Firstly, casement windows can cost significantly more than standard windows—especially if you need to install custom windows. If you plan on installing window AC units, then casement windows aren’t the best option, as it can be difficult to fit an AC unit into windows that open sideways or outwards.

The hinges on casement windows also pose a higher risk for break-ins, as rust and wear and tear can make the hardware easier for burglars to break into.

In addition to protecting your home from costly storm damage, storm windows increase your home's value if you live in an area that’s prone to severe weather. Storm windows offer about an 80% return on investment (ROI). Therefore, if you install $10,000 worth of storm windows, you can expect to get around $8,000 back if you sell your home within a few years of installation. Additionally, highly hurricane-prone areas, like the Florida coast, offer even higher returns, with ROIs on storm windows reaching up to 86%.

Yes, storm windows should be tempered. According to the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors, tempered glass is stronger and can withstand temperatures higher than laminated glass. Tempered glass is important for storm windows because it protects against outside elements and household accidents by not producing sharp, jagged pieces when it breaks or shatters.
