"Excellent service, very fast response to my request for service, picked up laptop, diagnosed issues. Initially thought it was an OS update issue but the hard drive had failed along with other components (including 'CPU). Because other components were involved, a new solid state hard drive was put into a laptop with a working processor - same type CPU as in the failed unit. The laptop was repaired and returned in less than a week. This company picked up and dropped off the laptop (driving from Huntsville, AL (about 60-70 minutes)-- great service in this covid environment. I would recommend this company to my family./friends and will use again."

"Since my mother-in-law recently moved into a nursing home and needed to donate furniture and vacate her apartment in Cherry Hill, NJ, we contacted Habitat for Humanity ReStore for furniture donation. Habitat ReStore highly recommended Sean at the Excess Furniture Removal to take and dispose of the rest of the unwanted household goods. We reached out to Sean to see if we could coordinate same day furniture/household pickup with Habitat ReStore and he was able to make it happen (we live in Boston and time coordination was important). Sean and Habitat ReStore arrived on time, Habitat ReStore took the donated furniture and Sean was able to take and dispose of all the unwanted furniture/household/TVs for me. Sean is very professional, helpful, respectful, responsive, reliable, and he keeps his word to get the job done. We were absolutely amazed at Sean's demeanor (calm, energetic, funny, delightful, and trustworthy). We were able to drive back to Boston feeling relieved that Sean came through for us and got the job done! We highly recommend Sean. Thank you, Sean."

Window Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

If your door has interchangeable inserts, you’ll likely want to swap the glass out for a screen during the summer months. The process to do so will vary by door, but you’ll follow these general steps: First, use a flathead screwdriver to pop out the retainer strips—the plastic strips running down both long (and sometimes all four) sides of the door. Then gently pull them out by hand. Carefully remove the glass insert from the door and replace it with the screen. Finally, push the plastic retainer strips back into place, working from top to bottom.

Screen repair is always worthwhile, as tears and holes in your windows and door screens are unsightly and allow pests and debris into your home, rendering the screen useless. The faster you repair your screens, the faster you can open your windows and doors freely to let the fresh air in. Consider repairing multiple door and window screens during one appointment with a screen repair technician to make the investment and labor costs worth it.

Window screens are available in several standard sizes. Common dimensions include 24 to 36 inches wide by 36 to 48 inches tall, as well as sizes like 18 by 14 inches and 20 by 20 inches. These often correspond to standard window sizes, such as 2 feet wide by 3 feet tall or 4 feet wide by 6 feet tall. Screens are also sold in replacement rolls to accommodate various dimensions. It is always best to measure your windows for accuracy before a repair or replacement. If your windows are a non-standard size, you will likely need to order custom screens, which can increase the cost. However, a screen does not necessarily have to fit the entire window, so you may be able to use a standard-size screen even if your window is slightly larger.

While the benefits of garage door screens usually outweigh the downsides, there are some cons to installing one. First off, they can be quite expensive, especially if you’re having a professional install a retracting screen or a custom size screen. Second, they let fresh air and natural light in, but they also don’t provide the same privacy from people in the neighborhood that a solid door does. As you might guess, screens also won’t insulate your garage, so they’re often not usable in colder weather.

Some local utilities or state programs offer rebates or tax incentives for energy-efficient upgrades, including solar screens. Make sure to check with your local energy provider or government agency to see if you qualify for any cost-saving programs. Federal tax credits may also be available for qualifying window and exterior home upgrades.
