"If anyone is looking to get grading and land level I recommend that you use Long Hill Contracting. Dave, who is the owner comes out to your home and does a walk thru. He asks questions on what you are looking to get down. He then present vision of your project with you. The projects turnaround time was very quick. He is extremely professional, project pricing is fair/reasonable and he goes out of his way to work within your budget. Thank you Dave!"

"Tito and Son was very professional. Work was amazing quality. Crew was very nice and friendly. Communication from Nayol was clear from the beginning and maintained throughout until the work was completed with updates with anything that was getting done. They removed and poured new sidewalk as well as the walkway to our front porch. They also redid our front porch steps with trex material and it looks amazing! All material that was removed was taken by them and left eveything nice and clean. Highly recommended. Will be using them again in the future."

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

In Edison, the property’s condition influences survey methods. Flat lots allow standard surveys, but properties near wetlands or the Dismal Swamp may need specialized environmental or elevation surveys. Dense neighborhoods require precise boundary work, and mature landscaping might need trimming for clear lines of sight. Underground utilities, paved surfaces, or flood-prone areas can complicate access and may require additional survey steps.

Helpful?

Completing land surveying in Edison offers immediate benefits like resolving boundary disputes, securing permits, and preventing construction mistakes. Long-term, it protects your investment by clarifying property lines, supporting future renovations, and documenting improvements. Accurate surveys also help avoid legal issues, streamline property sales, and ensure compliance with Edison’s changing zoning and environmental standards, giving you peace of mind for years to come.

Helpful?

As homes in Edison age, land surveying needs change. Newer homes often require basic surveys for mortgages or improvements. For homes over a decade old, boundary and topographic surveys become important for drainage or landscaping upgrades. Older properties, especially those near utility corridors or with past industrial use, may need detailed boundary, easement, or environmental surveys to address encroachments and clarify property lines.

Helpful?

In Edison, it’s time to schedule land surveying if you’re planning to build a fence, addition, or pool, resolving property line disputes, refinancing, or preparing to sell. If your property is near the Raritan River or flood-prone, updated flood maps or drainage changes also make a survey essential. Scheduling between spring and fall helps avoid weather delays and ensures better visibility for surveyors.

Helpful?

Edison’s weather directly affects land surveying. Winter’s frozen ground and snow can delay work, while spring and fall offer clear sight lines and easier access. Heavy summer growth and humidity can slow progress, especially in wooded areas. After storms or hurricanes, checking property markers is wise, particularly near the Raritan River, as shifting soil or flooding may impact boundary markers and survey accuracy.
