"What I loved about this company was that the salesperson was very responsive and was willing to put all terms and conditions in a typed contract. The work was performed as promised in a timely fashion. I obtained 4 other bids and their prices were competitive. In general, I am happy with the installation. The workers were cordial and patient in making adjustments to get the fence to look the way I wanted (my property is slightly hilly). The only caveat is that you should plan to be home to oversee the work as stuff comes up about the positioning of the fence, gates, and the height of the gap over irregular terrain.

"I hired Sergiy to redo my deck.  He first got a sense of my expectations before he went about exceeding them.  He hand-selected the lumber to ensure they were of the highest quality, and even went so far as to reject the selection offered from a local yard to scour the county for just the right pieces.  He and his crew were perfectionists, correcting flaws in the original construction and providing finishing touches that I would never have thought of.  He kept to his original estimate.  Materials were at cost:  he provided me with receipts and an inventory for all purchases, and when he decided something wasn’t needed, he returned it and refunded me.  He and his crew were polite and tidy throughout the process.  The deck looks amazing – amazingly high quality materials matched by a proud craftsmanship. Seriously highly recommended!"

"Brett was very communicative throughout the process.  It took a bit longer than I had hoped to get him to my house, but he was attempting to consolidate several of his jobs in my area into a single day.  I was not there when the work was performed, but it was generally well done.  Leaves were raked, shurbs and hedges were trimmed and all yard waste was removed from the property.  They did miss one area on the side of my driveway, but Brett agreed to come back and once they did, I was completely satisfied.

Driveway Gates FAQs, answered by experts

Fence gates sag because they have no support on the latch side of the gate to help hold them aloft. A gate wheel fixes that problem by providing support for that latch side. Remember that the ground must be level in front of the gate so the wheel can roll freely when you open and close it. If the terrain is uneven or slopes, a gate wheel won’t work.

Is your wrought iron gate really rusty or in need of major repair work? Replacing it with a gate with built-in privacy screening may be easier and, in some cases, more economical. Professional fence or gate repair costs average $100 to $400, and you may be able to get a new gate for the same price.

The obvious disadvantage of an automatic gate is that it runs on electricity. If the power goes out, it won’t open or close unless there’s a manual override. Many homeowners will need a backup generator so they don’t get stuck on either side of the gate, particularly when looking to park a vehicle. Automatic gates are also much more complicated than manual gates, with tech-heavy components that make them more expensive to repair.

Yes, professionals can install gates with locking mechanisms and access control systems for added security.

Installing a gate on your property is often a worthwhile investment, despite the initial expense. Gates enhance your home's curb appeal and can increase its property value, making them more attractive to potential homebuyers. They provide significant security benefits by keeping out unwanted guests and increasing privacy for your household. Additionally, a gate can help keep children and pets safely contained in your yard.

For driveway gates, automatic versions are particularly convenient and tend to add more value than manual ones. The choice of gate material also plays a role in both aesthetic appeal and security. Beyond driveways, side gates can improve accessibility to your rear yard, making the outdoor space more usable. Overall, whether for security, safety, or aesthetics, installing a gate is a valuable addition to a property.
