"Top-notch service! Jimmy and his crew were courteous and professional at all times and I am very happy with the quality of their work. For demo & disposal, my new driveway was protected as the 20yd dumpster never left the back of the truck. His guys also moved a 300lb treadmill for me up a flight of stairs into a room on the second floor without any bumps or bruises. I recommend A Man With a Van & More without reservation."

"I had a great experience with Pick N Roll for my local move from New Rochelle to Yonkers. Their customer service was top tier, and the moving process went smoothly. This being my first move from living with my parents I really didn?t know where to start. But all my questions and concerns were answered, provided a clear, competitive estimate with no hidden fees. The moving crew, arrived 15 minutes early and worked so efficiently. They carefully wrapped all of my heavy furniture and navigated up 4-flight walk-up with ease. Everything arrived safely with zero damage, and they even helped assemble my bed frame at my destination. I highly recommend using them to anyone in the Westchester County area looking for an stress-free moving company.Thank you, Pick N Roll Moving!"

Hauling questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on item size, accessibility, and additional services like disconnection or recycling.

While a rented dumpster can handle a wide variety of materials, there are significant restrictions on what is allowed. Generally, you can dispose of most non-hazardous household junk, yard waste, and construction debris.

Accepted items typically include:

  • Furniture, carpets, old linens, and toys

  • Wood and yard debris

  • Small appliances and excess trash

  • Renovation waste like old finishes, building debris, and roofing materials (unless they contain lead paint or asbestos)

However, you cannot put toxic, flammable, or hazardous materials in a dumpster. Prohibited items almost always include:

  • Paint, gasoline, oil, and other fuels

  • Household cleaners and other chemicals

  • Electronics, batteries, and tires

  • Refrigerators, hot water tanks, and medical waste

Since regulations can vary by location and company, it is essential to check with your dumpster rental provider for their specific list of accepted and prohibited items before you begin.

Several types of items aren't allowed in roll-off dumpsters. First of all, hazardous materials and hazardous liquids are a no-go. This includes asbestos, oil, wet paint and other materials. Other banned items include batteries, electronics with lithium batteries, propane tanks, tires, and appliances with refrigerants. Some areas have shifting requirements (for instance, certain locations do not allow mattresses), so check with your local regulatory agency.

Yes, cleaning a crawl space is worth the cost. Although it's an out-of-sight area, neglecting it can lead to significant problems like pest infestations (including termites and carpenter ants), mold, and fungal growth, which can cause structural damage. Regular cleaning helps prevent these issues. While hiring a contractor has ongoing costs, the price for cleaning—typically between $0.50 and $4 per square foot—is much lower than the cost to remediate a pest or mold problem. Additionally, a clean crawl space can lead to improved indoor air quality and more comfortable temperatures in your home.

Service costs depend on several factors, including the system's age, type, and size, as well as the complexity of the repair. Labor costs and whether replacement parts are necessary also play a significant role.
