"They were a little hard to contact but in the end, they did an excellent job repairing our retractable awning and replacing the fabric. Other places we contacted refused to do the repair and instead tried to get us to buy a new awning at much higher cost."

"The sales rep was very helpful in providing a sample of different awning designs. The installation crew was Pleasant and did a great job setting up the awning cover. The pricing to replace our old awning cover and two supporting arms was very competitive."

"A pleasure dealing with Marygrove Awnings. Scott answered all our questions in detail, and came in with the best price by far for a retractable awning. Installation by Jackie, Jeff, and Antony was amazing, fast, and efficient. We absolutely love our awnings. Our only regret is that we didn’t get them earlier. Highly recommend Marygrove Awnings."

"I have been dealing with Ace for 13 years they first replaced my windows. I live on Ocean Ave. They were installed a couple of months before Superstorm Sandy and withstood the impact and after 12 years of Nor'easter's they still look great. Now I hired them to do my storm door and sliding door. Great quality products at great prices and everything was sized to fit what they were replacing. I wouldn't use anyone else. Maria, Nicole, Rich and Huey are amazing."

Patio Covers FAQs, answered by experts

Hurricane fabric is a temporary form of hurricane protection that offers an alternative to boarding up windows or installing traditional storm panels. Unlike hurricane screens, which are permanently attached to your home, hurricane fabric is installed over your windows and other openings before a storm.

In terms of effectiveness, hurricane fabric is tested and proven to protect homes from Category 5 hurricanes, which can have winds over 157 miles per hour. When installed properly, it is designed to block the majority of wind and rain and protect against water, debris, and projectile damage.

While the fabric is exceptionally durable, windows can still break if hit directly by flying debris at high velocity. However, it is a good protective measure against an impending storm. For comparison, hurricane fabric is more protective and durable than hurricane window film. While boarding up windows is easier than installing the fabric, it is more labor-intensive and requires storing heavy plywood.

To further increase the chances of your windows surviving a hurricane, you can take additional steps like securing outdoor items, elevating HVAC units, and fortifying your home's foundation.

Awnings are either fixed or retractable and can be paired with a variety of cover materials. Fixed awnings are a permanent outdoor feature of a building. These are highly durable and require ongoing maintenance. Once installed, the position of this awning cannot be changed.

Retractable awnings are more popular than fixed awnings since the cover can open and close. This allows homeowners to open and close the awning, depending on the weather. When not in use, it can be closed to allow for extra space.

The least expensive way to enclose a porch is with screens. These protect the room by preventing insects from entering and, if you live in a warm climate, provide excellent airflow during hot summer months. Screens cost far less than any other alternative, so if you are against getting permits, spending too much, or enclosing your porch in walls or glass, screens are the best choice.

Yes, most awnings include warranties for materials and installation. Confirm terms before purchasing.
