"Recently had to contact Skyline Construction Group regarding the rhones at my property. Mr.Zak called me back straight away and advised me of a date oneof his men would attend. They arrived bang on time and advised exactly what was needed and the cost. They then proceeded to carry out the work and was delighted with the result. A Trader that knows his trade."

"Empa is an exceptional business! I had cracked stucco on the front my 4500 sq.ft. house. This let water get behind the stucco and caused rot in some of the plywood and wall studs. Quite a serious and destructive problem. Jehu (the company principal) was able to localize the problem areas and his crew replaced the affected plywood and studs. His crew then applied new stucco and color finishes, so the house looked brand new. In my experience Jehu is a man of his word, and his crew are top level technicians. They work harmoniously as a team and I heartily recommend Empa services to anyone."

"I highly recommend Patrick at Tri-Color Plastering! Patrick did a fabulous job repairing and plastering several of my walls, which were in definite need of repair. He took the time to do all of the proper steps to ensure the repairs were done correctly, and the finished walls look wonderful. He was prompt, reliable, neat, and very clean throughout the entire job. On top of his excellent workmanship, Patrick was extremely pleasant to have in my home and had a wonderful sense of humor, which made the whole experience enjoyable. It’s clear that he takes pride in his work and cares about doing the job right. His fee was very fair and reasonable for the amount of work. I would highly recommend Patrick and Tri-Color Plastering to anyone who needs plaster repair work. Sharon L."

"I hired them to replace my complete siding. They were very efficient, excellent work, very professional, and very affordable! They I stoked the new style aluminum siding with a wood vision, and now my house went from boring to beautiful European style. Im hiring them for my next project, which is soffit and gutters. "I live in Great Kills and was having a serious problem with water getting into my basement. Paul and the team at TriStone Masonry & Restoration came out, looked everything over, and did an excellent job from start to finish. They reinforced the basement where needed, completed the stucco work, and properly waterproofed everything to help stop the water problem. The difference has been brilliant, and I?m extremely happy with the finished work. Paul and the whole team were professional, hardworking, and very easy to deal with. They explained what they were doing and made sure everything was completed properly. Really fabulous guys and I would definitely recommend TriStone Masonry & Restoration to anyone in Staten Island having basement or waterproofing problems."

Stucco questions, answered by experts

To maintain stucco, inspect it annually for cracks and clean the surface with a mild detergent. Seal any cracks promptly to prevent water infiltration, and reseal or repaint as needed to preserve its appearance.

Solid, unpainted stucco shouldn’t suffer damage from dots of glue used for this task. If the stucco is dirty, you may notice slight marks when you heat and peel the glue away, but these aren’t permanent.

However, not all stucco walls are solid stucco. Some are “faux” stucco with a foam backing. This kind of stucco veneer is more susceptible to damage, including damage from hot glue. We don’t suggest attaching anything to these kinds of stucco walls, so make sure you check the stucco type before starting this project.

The Mediterranean style is unique in that it’s designed for homes in hotter climates and to maintain a connection with nature. The building materials include stucco siding, clay roofs, and interior tiling with tall ceilings and open floor plans. These all come together to keep the interior cool. The building materials are all natural and tend to have muted earth tones, and the architecture typically allows for easy, open access to the outdoors through large windows and arched doorways. The decor and architecture can range from simple and functional to opulent, depending on the type of Mediterranean home it is.

It typically takes around 30 to 60 minutes for a window pro to replace one window in standard siding types, but a window in stucco will likely take a bit longer because of the density of materials. Custom architectural windows usually require a longer replacement process because of the additional fitting and securing required.

Stucco applied over brick can last 30 to 50 years or more when correctly applied and properly maintained. Stucco’s lifespan can be shortened by improper application, incorrectly mixed material, lack of preparation before application, and lack of maintenance. To get the most life out of your stucco siding, keep up with maintenance and repair any damage as soon as you discover it.
