A small DIY putting green kit is around 100 square feet; a good option if you're tight on space.

It’s common for the edges of new sod to turn brown, especially if they run up against heat-absorbing surfaces like driveways, rocks, or pavers. You can fix this problem with more concentrated watering at the edges of the lawn as it takes root. However, continuing brown problems or brown areas on the inside of the lawn are signs of a problem. The lawn could need more water, or the young grass could be under attack from fungi or other diseases.

Installers prepare the surface, lay a sub-base for drainage, position the grass carpet, attach seams, and add infill for realism and turf stability.

Most professionals can install some putting greens in between one day and one week, but it depends on the size of the project and the complexity of the design. A small, simple putting green can take only a day to install, while a 2,000-foot-green with hills, slopes, and other challenging site features can take over a week. A DIY installation on flat, level ground will take a few days.
