"My experience with Aho was great! The communication was very prompt and professional. My job was a little more complicated than a standard gutter and Aho was up for the job. We arranged a day to do the work and the team was there on time and ready to roll. They finished the job that same day and left no trace that they were there. The gutters look amazing and after the first rainstorm test, they have appeared to solve my drainage problem. And the gutters look amazing. I would highly recommend Aho for any job big or small."

"These roofers worked hard to replace my old flat roof which was directly under a deck. They were carefully not to damage the decking so we could reuse it. The only issue I had, I noticed dozens of cigarette butts all over my road (20 actually). I talked to the boss and hopefully this never happens at another job site. How a worker thought this is ok, I don't know."

"Luis came down to replace some roof shingles. He did an excellent job and he found an exact match for the color. I would hire him again. He was able to do this in about an hour. Thank you. Barbara C."

"Hired Carey s for deck and screen house repair, painting, pressure washing house, and cleaning gutters. I am extremely happy with the results. Not only did they do what was on my list, they did many additional things, like replacing a rotted board in the garage that was not on my list, cleaning the pine needles and branches off the detached garage, painting more when needed and fixing my front door where it had rotted. Mark didn t charge me more and I very much appreciated his caring and getting these things done. When Mark saw something needing fixing, he just fixed it. He kept me informed throughout the whole job! His team worked very well together. I d definitely hire them again. Mark s customer service was exceptional."

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Snow and ice can both accumulate on the top of a metal roof and slide off as the weight of the snow increases or as the snow and ice melt. This can rip the gutters off your roof and damage the gutters or the roof if you don’t take preventative measures. Snow guards are one of the easiest methods for helping to prevent snow accumulation on your metal roof from damaging your gutters.

If you are experiencing minor issues with your gutters, such as a small leak or cracks in one or two sections, it makes more sense to repair the issue than to replace your entire gutter system. However, you may need to replace your gutters if they’re frequently detaching from your home or if you notice a buildup of mold or mildew in your basement.

Yes. Excessive pitch in gutters can cause water to flow too rapidly, leading to a decrease in the gutter's water-holding capacity; consequently, during heavy rainstorms, water may awkwardly splash outside the gutters. Ideally, you should aim for a quarter-inch of gutter slope for every 10 feet of gutter run. However, it's important to note that this guideline may vary depending on your home's structure and the type of gutters being installed.

Yes, many homeowners find that seamless gutters are worth the investment. Although they have a higher upfront cost than standard gutters—an average of $2,700 compared to $2,000—their benefits often outweigh the price difference. Seamless gutters last longer, require less maintenance, and are less prone to clogs and leaks due to having fewer seams. In contrast, standard gutters typically have seams every 10 feet, which can leak and require new sealant every one to five years. Additionally, seamless gutters are considered more aesthetically pleasing, come in a variety of colors to match your home, and can improve your home's curb appeal and potential value.

When it comes to which gutter material is better, the choice really boils down to what you're looking for in a gutter system. If saving money is the most important factor, then your best option is to go for aluminum gutters. If longevity and durability are more important to you, then copper gutters could be the best fit. If you want to customize the color of your gutters, aluminum takes the cake, but if you're looking for a more natural appearance, copper might be a better choice.
