"Kevin called me back the same day to schedule a visit and give me a quote. He showed up on time, was very thorough and honest. He originally scheduled the work for a couple weeks out due to some remaining exterior jobs they were still working on, but put me on the 'rainy day' schedule. Lucky me, it did rain and they were able to get the job done even sooner than I expected. Jeremiah and Damien did a FANTASTIC job on the bathroom. I can barely recognize it with how good it looks compared to before. Exceeded my wildest expectations. I would highly recommend K-Nells, and will be using them in the future for any painting needs."

"My wife and I needed all of the rooms in our house painted, because we were moving away, and wanted to do short term rental of our property. Kristian handled it all, really easily in a friendly, and professional manner. From purchasing materials for us, to prepping the rooms and painting all the details like ceilings, and even the window casings could have been more challenging, had he not had the years of experience that he does. We will definitely hire White Mountain Precision Painting for any of our next painting projects."

"Everything went wonderfully with this company.  They were very professional, listened to exactly what my problem was, and explained to me how they were going to diagnose the problem and/or solve it before doing any actual work.  Once they started, the team (three people came) worked together like a well-oiled machine.  One was in the room with diagnostics, one was at the fuse box looking for possible problems there, and the third went into the crawlspace beneath our house to look at the physical wiring.  Once the problem was found (there was a faulty wire beneath the house that had come loose from the junction box), it was fixed and tested within minutes and another full diagnostic was done to make sure there were no other possible issues.  They cleaned up after themselves very neatly.  They also replaced the light switch with a dimmer switch at no extra cost!  Well within my budget, and came in even lower than their original (FREE) estimate!  I would highly recommend this company to anyone in the Bergen County area.

"The work went very well.  Tim did a great job.  The laminate installed in all 3 areas looks fabulous.  Was not a lover of laminate, but seeing how good it looks (thanks to Tim!), may do it again in the appropriate area.
Tim went above and beyond...removed and reinstalled switch plates, coat rack, and lots of bits and pieces.  Not to mention getting rid of an old water tank!
Estimated/final cost right on spec.  Nice finish work and attention to detail - and made good recommendations.
Great Job, Tim!!!  Thank you!

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

When choosing materials for finishing basement walls, consider factors such as moisture resistance, durability, and fire resistance. Opt for materials specifically designed for basement environments, like moisture-resistant drywall or cement board. Insulation with vapor barriers can help regulate temperature and prevent condensation. Consider using mold-resistant paints or coatings.

Research and consult with experts to select materials that are suitable for your specific basement conditions and intended use. Prioritize quality and compatibility to achieve long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing results.

Hanging wallpaper may seem simple, but in practice it requires significant planning and finesse to make it look professional. To start, you need to get an even application of wallpaper paste across all of your wallpaper, which requires experience and large pasting tables to get right. You also need to plan out your design and match it exactly so that you don’t have imperfections in the finished product. It’s often better to hire a professional wallpaper hanger who can get the job done properly for a clean, smooth finish.

Your peel-and-stick wallpaper can fall off for multiple reasons, including high humidity levels, extreme temperature changes, poor installation, and even the wall surface. Textured walls can prevent the adhesive from fully sticking to the wall, making it more likely for the wallpaper to peel off. Low-quality wallpapers with weaker adhesives are also more likely to fall off prematurely.

Textured or patterned vinyl wallpaper designs are the best option for hiding imperfections. Embossed designs or faux finishes like brick, wood, or linen textures are especially effective at camouflaging dents, cracks, or uneven surfaces. Avoid smooth, shiny finishes, as they can highlight flaws rather than conceal them.

While peel-and-stick wallpapers require no time to cure, the adhesives for other types of papers will take a day or two to dry and up to three weeks to fully cure. The differences are the type of paper, the type of adhesive, and the humidity and temperature in the space.
