"Pete did an awesome job refinishing my kitchen hickory floor. It had faded from sunlight over the years and we wanted to go with a darker finish. He combined a couple a colors and it perfectly matched what we had in mind. Fair pricing too."

"Jason did a garage floor and a workshop floor for us in new construction. His customer education skills are excellent, and he was very careful to make sure we would be happy with our choices and the product. His communication and responsiveness throughout the process was fantastic, his team was very professional, and the work was done on schedule and budget. It was a great experience and I highly recommend him."

"Hired company to epoxy two car garage. Took them three weeks to complete job because of weather. Initial problem with sanding residue from garage floor ending up on my car parked in the driveway. Brought to attention of owner first thing in the morning. He responded in 10 minutes and took my car to local deluxe car wash. Problem corrected. Job looks very nice. They also sealed some cracks in cinder block foundation. I would hire them again."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

No, termites don’t eat bamboo flooring like they do hardwood flooring. That’s because bamboo is a hardy grass that is naturally resistant to many pests, including termites. If you’re concerned about termites or other pests that could damage your floors, you can achieve a look similar to hardwood without the stress of pests by installing bamboo flooring.

Raising a sunken living room requires help from a professional contractor. The expert will remove existing flooring and trim, reroute utility lines with respect to the new floor level, pour concrete to fill the recessed space, and then let the concrete cure. After the foundation is raised up, the contractor will install the new utility lines, repaint the walls, if necessary, and finish the area with flooring and trim.

Carpet is most often affixed to the floor by tacks in tack strips rather than nailed or glued directly to the subfloor. The tack strips are nailed to wood subfloors. Even if you want to install carpet over concrete, you’ll adhere the tack strips to the concrete with masonry nails or a liquid adhesive.

Avoid placing carpet in the bathroom or the kitchen. After all, moisture is no friend to carpeting. Beyond that, it’s down to personal preference. Some people dislike when a garage or basement features carpet, but others enjoy it.

Carpeting has a few benefits on stairs in addition to being a cost-effective floor covering. It absorbs sound, dampening footsteps. It also provides additional traction, which is especially important if you install linoleum floors, epoxy flooring, or any other floor covering that can become slippery if you’re wearing socks. Therefore, carpets can help prevent slips.
