"This fall 2016 when I turned on the heat at our house in Manchester, NH our carbon monoxide detectors went off. I called my plumber who came with a carbon monoxide detector to inspect. The plumber told me that the appliances, boiler and hot water heater, were fine, but the chimney was blocked. I called John Baker of Baker Brick & Block to unblock the chimney. We scheduled an appointment that he never showed up for and never called to cancel. Earlier that day he texted me to say he was running late, but never showed up and never contacted me to cancel. John responded to my texts and phone calls two days later and we made another appointment. He and another man arrived and worked on the chimney. When they finished they told me it was cleared and I could put the heat on. I did, it smelled, but they said that was fine. I paid them, they left. Five to ten minutes after they left the carbon monoxide detectors went off. I immediately called John, he said he couldn't come back right then and explained that the chimney was clear and another problem must exist. I turned the heat off, aired out the house. Two days later another guy came out, said there was no draft in the chimney, it was blocked. He cleared it and the heat has been working great since. I asked him if the chimney could have blocked again since John Baker was here. He said, no the blockage was old and had been there a while. He explained that not only did they clear the chimney, but they also removed a loose crown, which could have fallen in after they left, but they took it down to prevent it from falling in and blocking the chimney again. He also showed me before and after pictures he took of my blocked and then unblocked chimney. John Baker took my payment and didn't clear the chimney as he said he did. He ignored my follow-up calls and texts requesting he return my money. Avoid John Baker at all costs. Also, know Baker moved from Concord, NH to Manchester, NH."

When deciding on which at-home solution to use, bleach and vinegar are both effective at removing moss from driveways. Bleach tends to last longer, keeping moss away for up to a year, while vinegar may need to be applied more frequently. However, vinegar is much gentler on the environment, making it a safer option overall.

While it’s not completely necessary for them to operate properly, as the occasional rainfall can rinse away dirt and debris, manually cleaning solar panels from time to time can keep them operating more efficiently.

Dirt, debris, pollen, and bird droppings can collect on the surface of the panels. Depending on the amount of solar panels you have, this can add up over time, so set a regular maintenance schedule. Moreover, if you live in a climate with little to no rainfall, more debris can accumulate, causing inefficiencies that would be clear in your electricity bill.

It generally involves soft washing with eco-friendly detergents to remove contaminants, avoiding high-pressure methods that can damage materials.

Roof cleaning is typically necessary annually, although homes in moist or heavily polluted areas may require more frequent service to prevent buildup.

You can use a pressure washer to clean a whole host of surfaces. The exterior siding of your house is one of the most popular spots, as well as your driveway, garage floor, patio or deck, and even your outdoor furniture. Just be mindful about the amount of pressure you apply to different materials—concrete can handle a lot more than wood, for example.
