"The communication and the compassion from this company was outstanding. I was out of town with my son in the hospital and Vermont Outdoor People not only were efficient, skillful but kept me up to date with the process of the limb removal at my home. The tree guy was exceptional in the removal and he advice for doing preventive work. The person at the end of the phone was exceptional , compassionate and supportive, when my plate was already full. I would give Vermont Outdokr People an exceptional rating and will definitely wkyk with them again."

I definitely be asking them to come back again when I need their services. I would highly recommend Andy and his company for their cleaning services. Very courteous and professional. "Jesse and Ben were both very professional and extremely thorough . They mulched and edged all the beds in both the front and back yard. They had to come back because I had thought a yard of mulch was enough but it was not. There was no extra charge and the travel distance was significant. I was also impressed with their level of communication. I was kept well informed of arrival times and/or any delays. I look forward to having them back in the Fall for a clean-up. My apologies for the lateness of this review for these two great guys !"

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

When a surface that contains lead dust is disturbed, the dust can float about in the air for roughly an hour before settling again. Since you cannot see the dust, it is important always to wear protective gear when working with any materials that may contain lead paint and to keep children, pets, and others away from the area for as long as possible

Unfortunately, lead dust does not look different from any other type of dust. You cannot detect it with the naked eye. To determine if you have lead dust in your home, you will need to hire a local company to take a sample from the paint and test it for you in a lab.

Lead toxicity comes from inhaling lead or consuming it. Before the 1980s, when the government banned lead from consumer use, it could be found in paint, plumbing, pipes, ceramics, and even gasoline. Lead paint is toxic for the same reason lead itself is toxic, which is why lead poisoning from paint presents the same as lead poisoning from water or food sources, with a slight increase in respiratory symptoms vs. digestive symptoms. Lead paint is most dangerous when it’s old and peeling, cracking, or otherwise disturbed. This increases the concentration in the air and, therefore, in breathable air.

Lead removal can take a few days to several weeks, depending on the work needed, particularly if the lead is widespread and in hard-to-reach areas.

Lead exposure poses significant health risks, including neurological, developmental, and behavioral disorders, especially critical in young children and fetuses.
