"I used ANGI for the first time and AS Plumbing and Heating contacted me promptly. They were able to provide services the same day. The service was exceptional and price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend this company and will use them in the future."

"I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the service provided by McGinley & Sons. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this issue, I have yet to receive the promised refund for work that was never completed. As a cancer survivor undergoing surveillance scans, the refund would greatly assist in covering my medical expenses. The lack of response and follow-through has added unnecessary stress during an already difficult time. In addition to this, I had to hire a lawyer to recover my down payment, which cost me additional money. Moreover, he did not offer to compensate me for the extra expenses, including hiring an electrician to install a wire for the heat pump he could not install. Despite repeated attempts to have the deposit returned, I finally received it after engaging legal assistance. I hope this review will encourage McGinley & Sons to address this matter promptly and fairly."

"Devin Coleman was prompt, courteous, professional and well informed. He advised us and responded to our requests. His estimate was easy to review and he answered questions effectively. Triumph's lead technician, Andrew was clearly a professional who knew both the products and the complicated installation process. His installers included Josiah, Austin and Devin and they were all hard working and interacted well together and with me. I appreciate their attitude and the work they performed. We are delighted with our new system which effectively cools, heats and dehumidifies our home. I feel that this is the best purchase we have made in remodeling our home. Thanks to all of you!"

"Bill, his two sons, and two additional employees arrived on time and spent the entire day (approximately 11 hours) installing a new boiler as well as a new hot water tank, outside venting and a new oil line. Importantly, the crew was able to put both the boiler and hot water tank in a very confined area, thus eliminating having to use a portion of our basement that was designed (and being used) for storage. Though it's only been a week since the work was completed, everything is working properly and we anticipate that it will continue. As a result of the satisfaction we've experienced, I've already been asked to supply information referent to the company's workmanship, efficiency, proficiency, and cost to a good friend whose home is in need of boiler replacement."

"We own a home-based business which relies heavily on our computers operating efficiently. We have had a service contract with another computer repair business for several years. Recently when we were having problems with our computers, we tried contacting our service contractor multiple times. He never responded. Feeling frustrated, I contacted James at North Alabama Technical Services and explained our situation. He instantly came to our rescue. He "cleaned-up" our computers and took care of all the problems we were experiencing. He went above and beyond to help us in our dire time of need. We would strongly recommend James and his company for computer service needs. We have now retained him on a service contract and are looking forward to working with him in the future."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Unless they are connected to the same system, boilers and water heaters will both need their own expansion tanks. The only case they wouldn’t have separate expansion tanks is if the boiler is pulling double duty and managing a heating system while also supplying hot water for a home. In which case, you may not need a hot water heater.

Most home boilers will need an expansion tank. That’s because these boilers are closed-loop systems, where the water is trapped. An expansion tank is needed when the boiler heats the water and it expands, allowing air to condense in the tank to make room for the water. Other types of boilers don’t use an expansion tank, such as traditional steam boilers, but these aren’t as common. And hot water tanks may be able to use a pressure release valve instead. When in doubt, call in a pro to take a look.

Yes. Boilers need water to run without overheating, also known as dry firing. If you run it without a sufficient volume of water, either because of a burst pipe or a leak, you run the risk of damaging your machine or jeopardizing the safety of your home as a whole. When in doubt, shut off your boiler and repair any plumbing issues before turning it back on. Alternatively, consider installing a low-water cutoff (LWCO) before any issues arise. This gadget will protect your boiler by monitoring water levels and automatically shutting it off if it gets too low.

If you're often struggling with radiator issues like chilly spots, leaks, or annoying noises, those are common indications that your radiator may need to be replaced. Corrosion, uneven heating, and persistent hissing sounds are common issues as well. When repairs become a regular chore and your home’s energy bills start to rise, a new radiator will bring the comfort and savings you need.

The radiators closest in proximity to the boiler heating system will heat up first. Radiators in rooms farther away from the boiler will take longer to heat up and may be the coolest rooms in the house. The radiator unit itself should heat up evenly; otherwise, there may be trapped air inside it.
