From the initial miscalculation of the loam and seed needed to complete the project to his refusal to meet and discuss the unresolved issues, the experience was deeply disappointing. Additional concerns exist but are beyond the scope of this review. To offer a simple comparison: while Brian was working on my property, the electric company happened to reseed a patch of roadside across the street. Their quick, basic repair job yielded better results than what I received. If Brian’s outcome had matched even that standard, I wouldn’t feel the need to leave a negative review. Perhaps his services are adequate for basic tasks like mowing, raking, or plowing. But for more substantial projects, I strongly recommend exploring other options. Do your homework before making a decision."

Piece by piece the trees were cut, small pieces were chipped and large pieces were stacked neatly and loaded into a couple of trucks and hauled away. Super professional company with a great crew. If you have trees that need to be taken down, this is the company to hire."

The best way is to start controlling tree height long before it grows too large, via careful pruning through the years. But that’s not always possible. If a tree has become too high or too large, use selective pruning to remove the most troublesome branches, one by one, without topping the tree. When the storm is over, take a closer look to gauge the damage done.

You don’t always need a permit to grind a stump, but you might need one depending on your location and the stump’s surroundings. Permits are often needed if the stump is part of a protected tree species, near public areas or utility lines, or close to environmentally sensitive zones like wetlands. Some cities also regulate noise and work hours. Always check local rules before grinding, and contact your city or county office if you're unsure.

Rock salt or Epsom salt can damage and kill tree roots over several weeks and can even assist in removing the tree's stump. However, you need to drill holes or cut into the stump and surface tree roots to inject them properly with the salt. Repeat the process every two weeks until the roots visibly rot away.

Any cutting of tree roots can hurt or kill a tree, which is why it's recommended you don’t do it unless the roots are damaging or invasive on a nearby structure like your home.
