"Dan was nice and professional when he came to look at the Black Locust tree stump in my yard. He said when he would be able to grind it out and was on time and worked quickly and even cleaned up afterwards."

I have experience in a multitude of home repairs and upgrades... employed as a superintendent for many years in charge of assessing and repairing/replacing as well as rehabilitation of old apartments, also worked for tree services and general contractors. Most jobs I was asked by the customer personally to do more projects by myself, creating tension between myself and my employer, simply because the customers were impressed with my work ethic and personality. I am well versed in minor plumbing repair and fixture installation, minor electrical repair and fixture installation, cabinet and cabinet hardware repair and installation, wall repair and painting projects, tile and grout repair, wood working, landscaping and tree removal

Aquarium Services questions, answered by experts

The cost to pump a septic tank is $400 on average for most homeowners. You could spend as low as $250 if you have a smaller septic tank or as much as $600 or more if your tank is 1,750 gallons.

The size of your septic tank is the primary determining price factor, but your geographic location can also play a part in your overall cost. For example, pumping a septic tank in Minneapolis, Minnesota, costs between $175 and $275 on average, but in Portland, Oregon, you'll spend between $440 and $750.

To get rid of a sewer smell in your crawl space, you’ll have to find the source of the problem. If it has to do with your sewer lines, then repairing the line will help. You may need to make other repairs, like fixing your sump pump or encapsulating your crawl space to reduce moisture. After you make the repair, depending on the issue, you may still need to clean out your crawl space to get rid of the stink.

How often you need to pump your tank depends on the size of your tank and how many people live in your home. The average recommended frequency is every three to five years. However, your tank may need more or less frequent pumpings than that. For example, a single person with a 1,000-gallon septic tank may only need to pump it every nine to 12 years, while a five-person family with the same sized tank may need to pump it every two to four years.

Preventing septic tank problems can help save on overall septic tank repair costs and keep your home running smoothly. To ensure that your tank continues to function correctly, you should:

  • Have your septic tank system inspected every one to three years.

  • Have your septic tank pumped every three to five years or as needed based on your usage.

  • Avoid flushing paper towels, wet wipes, and feminine hygiene products.

  • Avoid excess water usage at one single time.

Septic tanks appear full after pumping because the liquid levels have returned to normal. If you can see the pipe, the tank is empty. However, heavy rain can cause septic tanks to fill faster than normal. You might also have leaky pipes or faucets, causing extra water to drip down the drains and into the septic tank.
