"Ducts were cleaned as we contracted for. When they finished the HVAC ducts they said they would do the dryer vent as a complimentary service. I told them I had recently cleaned it and they would probably not get much lint out of the vent. I was amazed at all they got out and it was at no additional charge."

Customers say: Quality work

"Ease Plumbing came out after a bad experience with a large HVAC/Plumbing company that quoted us outrageously high rates to fix a leaking toilet. Ease came in with a quote that was $2000 lower than the other plumbing company, then fixed it within an hour and half, without going back for supplies or tools. Great job Chris Bolin and his co-worker, Josh!"

"Excellent Honest guys! They even complemented the previous HVAC guy for his work. I would recommend these pros to anyone! Side note: be sure to find out everything you need to do during the cleaning. I had to leave the house for 45 mins for mold treatment with my animals. If you have multiple like me it can be tricky. Overall they were very patient while I got them out!"

Small jobs welcome

"J&N Heating and Cooling came out to my residence, diagnosed the issues I was having with my HVAC, provided a quote for the project, ordered the new unit, and installed it all within a short period of time. Their installer, Nathaniel, is an excellent worker and provided me the assurance that the job would get done right the first time. Their affordability will get anyone top notch service. Thank you, J&N!"

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Set your house temperature between 55 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit while on vacation, depending on the season. If it’s winter, don’t go below 55 degrees. In the summer, the best AC temperature for energy savings is no higher than 85 degrees. You can save anywhere from 10% to 15% on your energy costs by adjusting the temperature while you’re away. If you have a smart thermostat, set up vacation modes for each season. On your way home, turn off vacation mode to allow the home to warm up or cool down before you arrive.

Some of the signs of HVAC issues include rising energy bills, rooms not cooling or heating properly, loud noises when in operation, and signs of condensation. To illustrate, if you’re wondering how to stop condensation on air vents, you’ll need to have your HVAC inspected.

Yes, a dirty evaporator coil can freeze up. Dirty evaporator coils can’t absorb or transfer heat properly. The dirt and grime restrict airflow, which is needed to move heat throughout the system properly. Your air conditioning unit could freeze over, or it can cause your heat pump to freeze.

While both have advantages, a split system is generally cheaper than a ducted one. Because they are less invasive to install, the labor costs are lower, and they can be more energy efficient. But, a ducted system might be worth the investment if you run it more frequently.

No. Your furnace does not run your air conditioner. Both units use the same system of ductwork to move conditioned air throughout your home, but you can have a furnace without having an air conditioner and vice versa. Furnaces are only for heating your home. You can buy a system that does both, however, like a split system or a heat pump (yes, heat pumps cool, too).
