"Needed fencing installed to keep groundhogs from taking up residence under our deck. Brady came up with a creative and complete solution that made sure the varmints were out and would not return. Would use again."

Small jobs welcome

"Although this was originally to be a pressure-wash only job, we expanded it to include the staining of 2 pretty substantial size porches. We were very pleased with the outcome, but felt a little nervous over the course of the time that it took to complete the project since we had to pay the entire amount upfront and weren't around to oversee any of it. However, in the end we think we got a fair price, good communication, and excellent final product."

"

We called them and asked them to build a custom deck.  He came out and started our deck immediately and added benches and different levels.  He took our design and added to it and made our dream deck better that we could have imagined.

The price was better than we thought it would be.

It was a great experience and we highly recommend them if your looking for a great design and great prices.

Sincerely

The McKinneys

"Dean came and sized up our job--to freshen and restain the tin roof on our 200+year-old log cabin. While other less sincere contractors may have cut corners on our project, Dean thoroughly cleaned and prepared our old surface. He applied the agreed to opaque stain to the entire roof without damaging the old tin or the building. His work took two separate days a week apart, and we could not be more pleased with his work and price. He was fair, knowledgeable, timely, and put out a thorough product. We highly recommend his work. We called him two years after his work was complete to find out how to leave a recommendation for his work. Ed and Elisa Pressly"

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, Ipe is more expensive than Trex decking—both in terms of materials and installation (plus, Ipe trees are endangered). On average, Ipe decking costs $10 to $25 per square foot, while Trex decking costs $5 to $12 per square foot. Because Ipe is harder to work with, the price of installation is higher, too. For Ipe decking, you’ll pay between $20 and $45 per square foot for labor. However, with Trex decking, the labor costs range from $8 to $22 per square foot.

No, you don’t need a permit to repair and replace a few boards on an existing deck. However, if you’re making structural changes to the deck or tearing down the old one and building a new one, you will likely need a permit. Check with your local municipality for the regulations and rules in your area, or ask a local contractor who builds decks for advice.

Yes, snow should be removed from a deck to protect it from damage caused by moisture and heavy loads. Shovel the snow off of your deck regularly once it is more than four inches deep. Avoid using salt, which can damage your deck.

Composite decking is the best material for individuals living with disabilities who want to age in place. The material is anti-slip, which increases safety throughout the year. It’s also highly durable and requires minimal maintenance, so it doesn’t add another item to the individual’s to-do list. It’s also a good option for improving wheelchair accessibility at home, as it can easily manage a wheelchair ramp.

The “best” material is in the eye of the beholder, as each common decking material boasts its pros and cons. Poured concrete is the best budget-friendly option, but composite wood brings high-grade aesthetics without breaking the bank. Wood is the most traditional material, but it requires more maintenance than some other materials. In other words, do your research before settling on a deck material to find the one that’s best for your pool.
