Small jobs welcome

"We had our chimney resurfaced with a more durable ;bird proof EIFS synthetic stucco. Fernandez stucco did a great job and the chimney looks like new. Juan was easy to work with, kept us up to date and was always responsive to questions. The crew worked hard and seemed to be a nice group of guys. Would definitely recommend Fernandez stucco to anyone needing stucco work."

"I called them and talked to the general manager and advised that I was a member of Angie's List and told him that I had seen a Big Deal for $99.00 for a roof inspection. He was extremely informative and professional and informed me of concerns I had and what to look for since my metal roof had not been installed properly. It was not his company that installed the metal roof. He must have taken about 20 minutes over the phone explaining the concerns and had someone come out that same day to inspect and take pictures and didn't charge me for it. There were no leaks or issues found, but he did point out some things that I could do to take care of a couple areas concerning ventilation. I also had a question about my back patio that had nothing to do with my roof and he was very informative and gave advice on that issue as well. I would definitely recommend them to others."

Stucco questions, answered by experts

The cost to replace the chimney crown or top is about $1,550 on average. The range varies widely depending on the size of the chimney, the materials used, accessibility, and the extent of the damage. If you suspect a problem with your chimney top, call a professional masonry contractor for an inspection.

The decision to repair or replace stucco depends on the extent of the damage. For minor issues like small cracks, holes, dirt, stains, or discoloration, a repair is typically sufficient and more cost-effective. These issues can often be resolved with a simple repair, a deep clean, and possibly a new coat of paint. However, for more significant problems such as large cracks, peeling, mold, algae, or structural water damage, a replacement might be necessary. In these cases, it is best to call a professional stucco contractor for an inspection. An expert can assess the severity of the damage, determine if there are deeper issues, and advise whether a repair is adequate or if replacing a section or an entire wall is the more cost-effective, long-term solution.

Properly installed and maintained stucco can last 50 to 100 years, making it one of the longest-lasting siding materials available. This durable material is known for its durability, and as long as you clean and waterproof it regularly and promptly repair any damage, it’ll protect your home for decades to come.

Homeowners insurance generally won’t cover stucco damage unless it’s caused by a covered event like a storm or fire. You’ll need to pay out of pocket for damage caused by age, wear and tear, lack of maintenance, or faulty installation. Consult your policy for the specifics of what stucco damage is covered and what isn’t.

Costs range from $500 to $2,000, depending on the damage size and texture matching.
