"I hired Superior Plumbing and Drains to install a gas water heater in my home. They provided a 10 year full warranty and cleaned up after they finished the job. Austin and Zach had great customer service and were extremely professional. I will hire them for all my future plumbing needs and I would recommend them to anyone who needs plumbing work done in their home!"

"AWESOME!!! David Medlin's Plumbing Repair was prompt, professional, and informative!!! They were willing to explain everything they did to me and told me things I could do on my own if I wanted to change the water pressure. I will definitely hire them again!!! (Although I hope I wont have another plumbing issue)."

"Todd Travis and Darnell replaced non functioning french drains Water just pours off the street, driveway and hill down into the front of my house. The old (9 and 2 year old) drains were not working. Don't call a landscaper to do this work!!! This is a real waterproofing company that understands how water flows. Great job!"

"Fantastic job … he also took out arches and opened a wall up from the kitchen to the den. I have several other jobs to do and Rob will be doing them. I have also recommended him to other neighbors and they also love his work."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

If you’re not using a septic system, problems with your home’s plumbing won’t cause this—it’s a city problem. A large blockage in the municipal sewage lines may cause those lines to back up into your home. This is extremely unpleasant and can be a serious health risk due to bacteria and other contaminants. If this occurs, call a pro (or your city) immediately.

Clearing typically takes 1-2 hours, depending on the blockage size and location.

There are many things that could cause your basement floor drain to back up. One significant cause of a drainage backup is flushing non-flushable items, such as wipes, paper towels, and facial tissue. Other causes of a backed-up basement floor drain include tree roots impeding the drain pipe or an accumulation of hair, oil, and grease.

Bleach isn’t likely to help unclog a sewer line. Bleach isn’t useful in this situation because it won’t dissolve the grime and debris in the clog. Instead, you want to use ingredients that will have a chemical reaction to clear out the buildup, like vinegar or salt and baking soda.

Yes, you can use vinegar to unclog a dishwasher. To do so, combine 4 tablespoons of white vinegar with 4 tablespoons of baking soda and pour the mixture down your dishwasher’s drain. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then pour a cup of hot water down the drain to flush everything out. Finally, run a rinse cycle on your dishwasher to see if the clog is gone.
