"I was more than happy with the work. I was so amazed at the end. My yard never looked so great people actually was stopping by just to tell me how good it was looking. He gave me exactly what I asked for. The job was complete in no time. He will be the only tree service that I will recommend anyone to. Great job I would rate him 100%. Thanks for making my yard look like a home."

"Wonderful experience with these guys. Most importantly they are extremely knowledgeable and absolute experts, having done this work all their lives. Took down 4 trees for us over the past two days and will stump grind next. We have an additional four trees, much larger, that we'll be scheduling as soon as we get City permission (historic district requirements), and then a few more at another property. Won't use anyone else!"

"Charlie's Tree Service contacted me promptly and came over to inspect the tree and gave me an estimate on removing the tree. The large oak tree overhang a fenced in pool area. He was able to remove the tree without damaging the fence or pool area. His crew worked quickly and efficiently and completed the job in a couple of hours. His crew hauled off the tree cuttings and smoothed out the work area."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

A few signs a tree may be dead is if the leaves are dead and there are no signs of new blooms. You can also perform a scratch test on some of the branches to check the condition of the cambium layer beneath the bark.

If it is green, it is still alive, but if several are dry, brittle, and brown, the tree may be dying or dead. Always consult an arborist before assuming your tree is dead because you may be able to save it.

If you don’t stake a tree that needs support, it could be at greater risk of being damaged or failing completely, whether it uproots or falls over. That could cause damage to your property or other surrounding trees. If you want to grow healthy trees, you may need to stake them for best results.

Poison oak is similar to poison ivy in that it's in the same family of plants. Poison oak is identifiable by its rounded-off leaves and hairy leaf texture. Tree-climbing varieties live primarily in western states while low-growing poison oak bushes occupy the eastern states. Treat poison oak like poison ivy to get rid of it permanently.

To maintain trees on a commercial property, perform regular pruning, monitor for diseases, and apply fertilization to promote healthy growth. It is also important to remove any hazardous branches to keep the trees healthy and prevent potential liability issues.

It may not be worth it to rake every leaf in your yard, but it’s necessary to remove the majority of leaves to prevent them from smothering grass growth on your lawn. However, raking leaves isn’t your only option for leaf removal. You can remove leaves easily with a leaf blower or compost or mulch them with your lawn mower to repurpose them to help grow your garden or yard.
