"Prentice and Michelle are FANTASTIC!! We used them a few months ago for some leaf cleanup (which was also wonderful) and after a terrible experience with another provider, I called them back for our regular lawn maintenance. They came the same day (!!!) and went above and beyond all expectations. They finished our overgrown and large yard in about an hour and a half and their customer service cannot be topped."

"I moved into the area in the early spring and did not have a mower. I was having trouble finding a lawn care company to mow a 2 acre residential yard. James of S&S stopped by when he saw me outside and introduced himself. He explained he lives in the area and was wondering if I needed some help with the lawn. He explained what services he offers and we came to an agreement on price for the mowing and weed earring of my residence. S&S has been doing the lawn maintenance now for me for going on 4 monthsâ ¦ always professional with driveway and walks blown clean. As long as I stay in Mebane S&S will have my business. Local, trustworthy, and friendlyâ ¦ what more could you ask for."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

The best way to remove lead paint is by wet hand sanding and removing all dust and residue with a HEPA vacuum. Professionals may also strip and scrape lead-based paint with a paint scraper. In some cases, you may choose to have a pro encapsulate or enclose your lead-based paint surface by covering it with a sealant or a new material. You may also choose to replace the material altogether.

While the EPA provides guidelines for homeowners to perform DIY lead paint removal, it is a risky process and generally not recommended due to serious health risks and strict regulatory requirements. The process requires precise safety precautions, such as wearing a respirator and protective eyeglasses, creating sealed exits, and using a HEPA vacuum for cleanup. To ensure the job is done safely, effectively, and in compliance with regulations, it is highly recommended to hire a professional lead abatement company. Certified professionals have the necessary training, experience, and specialized equipment (like chemical strippers and HEPA vacuums) to handle and dispose of hazardous materials safely.

No, you can’t place hazardous waste in a dumpster unless you specifically ordered a dumpster for hazardous waste removal. If the dumpster company finds hazardous waste that it didn’t approve for dumping, the company will return the waste to you, and you’ll likely face a fine for illegal dumping.

Household products such as paints, cleaners, oils, and batteries are considered hazardous and should not be disposed of with regular household waste. Instead, look for local household hazardous waste collection facilities where you can safely dispose of these items without harming the environment or human health.

The safest way to remove lead-based paint is by letting a professional take over. For most people, lead paint removal costs an average of $3,400. You should never attempt to dry sand old lead-based paint surfaces by hand. Most professionals use a paint stripper to do the job followed by wet scraping, but if you don’t want to remove lead paint, another option is to paint over it. Only consider this option if the old lead paint finish isn’t flaking or cracked.
