"I have had the pleasure of having Lydia, Jerrod, and Cody from High Country Air come and work on my heat pump a few times now. Each time they have been very attentive and thorough when diagnosing and fixing the problem. My first experience with their company was wonderful. They were actually called in for a second opinion after a well known and recommended HVAC company did not fix our heat pump. They were sure to listen to my concerns and within a short amount of time my AC was fixed. Recently, my heater went out and they were very thorough and quickly fixed that issue also! I would highly recommend this company to anyone in need of HVAC services. They have wonderful prices, great customer service, and fix the issue quickly. You will not find anyone better!"

"I really want to thank the owner and the team of Virginia/Carolina Heating and Cooling. The team did what the owner said they would do. One of the best experiences I have had in years doing business with contractors. The team arrived and got right to work ensuring the work was completed in a timely manner while at the same time respecting my home and property. If you’re thinking of a new or upgraded HVAC system look no further than Virginia/Carolina Heating and Cooling...As we say around my neck of the woods...”Why bother with the rest, when you can hire the Best!” ...and the Best is “Virginia/Carolina Heating and Cooling”.....Thank You for reading....P. Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

No, it's not safe to keep using your unit when it's frozen. Not only can running a frozen unit lead to damage, but it can also potentially overheat, making it a fire hazard. Therefore, it's always best to turn off the AC unit as soon as you notice any ice.

While 72 degrees is a comfortable setting for many people, it’s likely not the most efficient temperature setting for your air conditioning unit. By pushing the temperature up to 75 or 78 degrees, you stand to save money on your energy bill. That said, these temperatures may be too warm to be comfortable for some people and are definitely too warm for most people to sleep comfortably.

If you’re shopping around for a rooftop AC unit, you may hear them referred to as “package units.” That’s because rooftop AC systems are all-in-one heating and cooling units that connect directly to your home’s ductwork. If your AC repair pro references a package unit, they are referring to the system on your roof.

Mold in your air conditioner isn't a good thing, as it can be harmful to your health. If the mold travels through the ductwork or is blown out of the A/C, you and your family can inhale mold spores and develop respiratory illnesses and other problems. Preventing mold from growing in the air conditioner will help protect your health.

The cost to install a ductless mini-split AC system ranges from $2,000 to $14,000, depending on the type of unit, the number of zones or rooms, and the complexity of the installation. On the low end, a system for one or two zones in a single room costs around $2,000. Covering two zones for more rooms can cost between $6,000 and $8,000. For a larger multi-zone system to cover an entire home, costs can be $14,000. If you don’t already have an AC system in place, you may need to add the cost of permits, an electrician, and a concrete pad.
