Heath did an initial assessment of the work required but advised it could change once he got behind the rotten boards to see the extent of the damage. Shock typically kills off algae in about one to three days, although it can take longer if the pool water is in poor condition. If you put your hand into the sand, it should flow through your fingers without clumping.
