"Junior Green and his Clean Hands Painting and Construction crew did an excellent job saving our screened in porch. We had a contractor who had spent 11 months (yes 11 months) installing a screened in porch and he was simply not able to finish the job. We became fed up and found Junior and he was promptly out to review the work and recommend how to fix it. He was able to correct all of the issues with standard construction practices that our last contractor ignored. He made sure that the screened porch was redesigned to protect against water and last for the long term without issues every few years from water damage. In addition to his knowledge of good construction practice he also made our porch look beautiful. Hats off to Junior and his crew for amazing construction work as well as stepping in and redesigning our porch for beauty and longevity. --Doug Young"

"Very good work at a reasonable price. Initially I only wanted help with wallpaper removal but his estimate on painting was hard to refuse. The entire room was complete in less than two days. Santiago is an honest and hard worker. I would definitely reach out to him for my next painting project."

"I'm no easily impressed. This company and their crew did an outstanding job despite the heat and high humidity. They were on time, worked hard, and cleaned up afterward. Even my neighbor was impressed and came over to talk to them. Working with a reliable company really does remove a lot of the stress of dealing with home repairs."

"In may he painted my interior to help prepare for the sale of my home. At first the job looked beautiful. A few months later the paint began to peel from the walls. I contacted in October aso my house was set to sale. He said he would return to fix the peeling walls and would use stronger primer. As of today, 2 weeks after we talked he has not returned nor answered my calls. I am concerned because my house sell was supposed to close next week but won't pass the walk thru now. Frantically trying to find a painter I'll have to pay now to fix these two walls that are peeling. My walls are plaster not drywall and that requires specific primer. All of which we discussed prior to job. Update He contacted me on 10/16/16 and let me know he had experienced a personal emergency and was apologetic. He arrived that day to begin the work to correct the issue and completed it the following morning before the closing on my house. While the initial lack of response was of great concern, he did make it right by contacting and working on a sunday to complete."

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

Wallpaper steamers can be very helpful for removing large sections of wallpaper more easily, but they’re not always a good idea for DIYers. The drywall behind your wallpaper is meant to stay dry, and excessive moisture from improper technique with a wallpaper steamer can leave you with severe wall damage. Drywall also retains moisture, which could result in mold growth over time. It’s best to hire a professional to remove your wallpaper with a steamer to avoid wall damage and related moisture issues.

While it is possible to paint over wallpaper, it is generally better to remove it first to guarantee a smooth, professional finish. Painting over wallpaper can save time, but it may lead to issues if not done correctly.

You can paint over existing wallpaper if it is in excellent condition: smooth, non-textured, clean, and firmly adhered to the wall. Ensure there are no bumps, tears, or peeling areas, and that all corners and seams are securely glued down. You might also consider painting over wallpaper if removing it would damage the underlying wall. Additionally, some wallpapers are specifically designed to be paintable, which can add texture to a room.

However, there are risks. If the wallpaper is textured, damaged, or peeling, these imperfections will show through the new paint. The moisture from the paint can also loosen the wallpaper's adhesive, causing it to bubble and potentially damage the wall. To mitigate these issues, clean the surface thoroughly and use an oil-based primer to help the paint adhere and prevent the old adhesive from bleeding through.

No, you don’t always have to remove old wallpaper before applying a new layer. However, you should pull off the existing wallpaper if it’s cracked, peeling, or in poor condition. We’d also recommend against putting wallpaper over textured or dark-colored wallpaper because the old layer may be visible through the new one. In addition, if you try to hang new wallpaper over vinyl-coated wallpaper, the adhesive might not stick properly.

Accent walls can feel out of place or distracting if not well designed. Accent walls that don’t fit in with a room’s style can feel jarring or overpowering. Some accent wall styles can also feel dated, but fortunately, it’s easier to update a single wall than an entire room.

Wallpaper in bathrooms can last anywhere from one to 10 years, depending on what type was used, how well it was installed, and the measures in place to reduce moisture and humidity levels. Opting for a more durable variety and taking all the necessary protective measures will get you closer to that longer lifespan.
