They provide NO supervision of their subcontractors, and are slow to respond to any calls, emails or contact. You must provide your own contractor if you want things to be done right. I was subjected to late arrivals and departures, no protection for my home or furniture, lewd prison graffiti on my deck boards, the nose of my new Subaru Outback being crushed, damage to two leather arm chairs, blood smeared and left on the inside of my kitchen range hood vent, a kitchen wall that was so out of level it was wavy, and my venting system being clogged with plaster dust to the point that it had to be replaced, and, after signing the final check in June, the tiles falling out of my kitchen backsplash and going into "warranty" coverage before the job was done to safe and acceptable standards. My floor had to be installed three times before it met the manufacturer's specs. This month (Jan 2013) they FINALLY finished the warranty work on the patio lights, but only after I emailed to ask when it would be done. If you want a high priced, beautiful deck...then give them a call. Otherwise...do not put yourself through the aggravation of dealing with this company unless you need a second career managing their lazy, corner cutting subcontractors and slick salesmen. Apologies to the plumbers and electricians who did a fabulous job...but they were not employees of this company. B. When I questioned her about pricing, jobbing, or anything, Ms. Isa gets confrontational.
C. I was quoted $160 for a set of shower safety handrails, installed. When the rails came in, the price when to $250, ($125 each). Make sure your estimates are in writing.
D. Sales tax facts: There is no sales tax on capital improvements in the state of Florida. Reference sales tax division code 12A - 1.051. It makes no difference to whom you write the check, Ms. Isa or the company. Do not be fooled by Florida sales tax section 3D in reference to itemized invoices, which must have sales tax. Bonafied capital improvement is not an over-the-counter sales and a qualified collector should know the difference and should give the customer the benefit automatically. If the collector doesn't know, do what I did, it took one phone call to the sales tax people; 1-800-352-3671 and 1-850-617-8346 which is the tech service that will explain the law to you.

I contacted Enver through Angie's List several weeks prior to coming to Myrtle Beach and asked him to follow up with me when we got closer to our arrival date. He followed up with me to the date exactly. We met and he gave us a quote right then. We thought the quote was fair but weren't...

FAQs for basement remodel projects in Gatesville, NC
Unless you have extensive experience in construction work, remodeling a basement is best left to a professional. There are several tasks associated with this project that require exact precision, including:
Replacing insulation
Replacing carpet or other flooring
Adding heating and cooling
Adjusting or adding walls and doors
Altering or adding plumbing elements
If any of these elements is done incorrectly, it could severely impact the quality of your basement remodel and be dangerous. Changing a basement often comes with code safety requirements, like egress windows and proper ventilation. Therefore, leaving it up to a professional is often the best decision.
The cost to finish a basement is $18,400 for the average homeowner. However, this cost could be as little as $2,800 or as much as $34,500, depending on the basement size and the materials needed. If your basement is already outfitted with electrical and plumbing, expect the cost to fall on the lower end.
For example, the drywall cost for this project averages around $1,750, but other features, like hiring a plumber, cost between $45 and $200 per hour.
The cost to remodel a basement is between $12,100 and $33,400 for the average homeowner. The price you pay can be as little as $3,500 or as much as $50,200, depending on the size and condition of your basement and the type of remodel you're doing.
If you're doing a simple project like adding a home office to your basement, you can expect to pay anywhere from $500 to $3,000. However, if you're adding a bathroom, which is an extensive project, you can expect to pay between $6,600 to $16,500.
Since DIYing a basement remodel isn't typically advised, there are some ways that you can still save money on this project without putting yourself in danger. Some ways to save money on a basement remodel include:
Painting walls yourself versus including in the cost of the remodel
Installing light fixtures yourself
Choosing prefabricated fixtures, like cabinets, over custom ones
Choosing a budget-friendly flooring option, like laminate or vinyl flooring, and add rugs where necessary
Although homeowners often use the terms basement remodeling and basement finishing interchangeably, they are quite different terms.
Finishing a basement is the process of taking a basement space that is not habitable and adding elements to make it usable. This includes adding plumbing, flooring, and insulation.
Remodeling a basement means taking an already existing finished basement and changing it, often by adding or removing walls, adding plumbing, or changing the existing flooring.
